Mr. Rondo

Rondo is not a go to scorer. He has never been.

It also can't be Mr. invincible , Mr. Jeff Green

Gonna have to be one of them. At this point Rondo, Smart and Green are the only pplayers on our team who can create on their own. Maybe Marcus Thornton?

Rondo can create assist but he is not an exceptional scorer.  The game plan vs Rondo is to lay off of him and let him beat you with the jump shot.

That's been the game plan to stop Rondo from getting all those assists and keeping him out of the lane for his entire career. How do you think it's working so far?

Very well in the 4th quarter . He can dance dribble all he wants no good team is going to get burnt. Unless three other HOF are on the court

We don't have an alpha dog type who can close.
I could see Rondo and Smart being the initiators to possibly find the open man.

Smart can be a go to scorer. Especially feed him the ball into the post. Can you imagine chris paul trying to deal with his size?

Nobody

Well loose 1/3 of the games during the last 8 minutes

Lottery

I agree. Lacking a true number one option and go to guy when the game is tight in the last quarter will lead to a lot of losses again.

In general the ball will probably go through Rondo, Green and Sullinger at the end of games. They are still the 3 best players on the team. Rondo is the only proven creator, Green will get hot 1 out of every 4 games and has the best physical tools, and Sully is the most crafty around the basket and has great hands.

I had very high hopes that Sully was going to be guy that could do good things for the C's in this situation or at least some situation.  High IQ, excellent passer, great soft hand on inbound catch.  Decent shot and good at drawing the foul .....all pluses for those last minutes.

Sully can make em pay drawing fouls near the bucket

His off court ethics really bother me.

If I were coach I'd draw up plays with Green as decoy......."Smart pick n rowl with KO and Sully out on  perimeter for three .

I don't trust AB to make the right play .....he can't pass or dribble.......although he may hit a few winning shots .

Still we have no Pierce

James Young is that ...great hope ......skills to take the ball inside or hit the three cold blooded.

Rondo got just over 25% of his assists in the 4th quarter last year, so the strategy didn't seem to work at all. Who do you think were the three other HOFers on the court with him this season?

Question is if Stevens has the balls to sit Rondo. Smart can post up or hit the 3 ball. If you give the Ball to Rondo they will just make him shoot it.

he can get all the assists you are talking about . But when there is 5 min left and everyone is playing tight defense and he not guarded tightly there is little to nothing he can do (especially when his jump shot is not falling).  You can trying to pull in multiple players into you to make the pass but no good team is that dumb.   He can start yelling at the players to run around to get open for a pass but that is getting old.

I'm boldly predicting that 4th quarter scoring will be by committee

Why not?

Smart and Young will probably be the guys down the road.

Yes, this would explain why he's always among the leaders in assist/48 in clutch time (last 5 minutes of close games).

since when? 2008-2011 when the big three were still on the team??

how does that assist/48 in clutch time look like in the recent years?

About the same as before. 2nd in the league twice and 6th in the league in the 3 years after 2011.

Again, who are the 3 HOFers he's been playing with recently? Identifying them would greatly speed up the rebuild.
