Deal done?
tspence doesn't have any credibility.

He was throwing junk at the wall with Rondo/Love/Randal megadeal earlier.

I believe Woj that Lebron has reached out to Love. But i'm skeptical that the cavs have actually offered Wiggins.  If they did, no way that the wolves are still thinking about this.

Latest offer imo is prob more like

To Wolves: Bennett, Waiters, 1st, Tristan Thompson

But the Wolves want Wiggins instead.  Lebron or not, i just can't see the cavs ownership trading Wiggins for a potential 1 year rental. Already without wiggins, they are overpaying for Love

Well, it would be at least two years, bc I'm sure a requirement would be that Love not exercise the early option on his contract.

I'm guessing it'd be the same deal as when the C's traded for KG, that the trade was contingent on KG signing the extension.  Although Love's in a trickier spot here, because LeBron has his opt-out; Cleveland's a helluva less attractive a place to commit to without him.

Andrew Wiggins has not been offered for Kevin Love. Klay Thompson has not been offered for Kevin Love. This is where things stand.

And it's just a matter of time until the Cavs/GSW gave in to Flip...

Are we that far from the Love train that I hardly see Boston's offer being mentioned?

If the C's are to land Love it means that they've moved on after missing out on Wiggins/Thompson.

Which is hilarious that Thompson is valued so highly but oh well.

I think what is value highly about Thompson is that he's young and on a more than reasonable contract (a bargain one might say) so while he's currently a very good player, it also provides you with plenty of financial flexibility to add more talent.

I think that's why he's valued. Wiggins would provide similar flexibility, but then it's a matter of preference between NBA readiness and how you actually project Wiggins performing (and what it'll cost you to keep him).

Edit: Sorry, completely mis-remembered Thompson's contract. Just confirmed and it's not what I was expecting.

I'm not ready to count things out on this.  Maybe Wiggins is being discussed for Love and maybe the Cavs are offering him for Love and a ton of picks.  Who knows?  There were times when Pierce and Rondo were almost out the door.  There was a time when KG would only go to Phoenix.  We'll turn the page when it's time.
We're the ones we've been waiting for.

No he doesn't he's a RFA next offseason. They gain no additional flexibility with Thompson as he's going to get a max offer sheet just like Hayward did.

Plus the proposed trade has David Lee in it. It provides zero additional flexibility and locks them into a Lee/Thompson/Pek/Brewer/Rubio team for another two seasons.

Who's going to blink first?

The funny thing is that i wont be heart broken if the Celtics dont get Love. He is a really nice player to have, no doubt. But he is barely a top 10 player in the NBA. And i wonder if he can really be a number one player on a contender.

Part of my desire to keep Love is that we also get to keep Rondo. I like that idea.  :)

Yeah, I edited my post above. I had a recollection of him being like in a 4 year $10 million per contract or such.

But after posting went to recheck, and definitely not what I was remembering. Not sure who I had in mind then.

So, now I don't know why the hard-on for him.

I don't want to make this a race thing, but Minnesota has shown a predilection towards white players, so that might go into it a bit too.

Pair him with Rondo, and this top 10 lists will no longer a dream for Love
