Are we that far from the Love train that I hardly see Boston's offer being mentioned?
Yes. At this point, its a pipedream.
If the C's are to land Love it means that they've moved on after missing out on Wiggins/Thompson.
Which is hilarious that Thompson is valued so highly but oh well.
I think what is value highly about Thompson is that he's young and on a more than reasonable contract (a bargain one might say) so while he's currently a very good player, it also provides you with plenty of financial flexibility to add more talent.
No he doesn't he's a RFA next offseason. They gain no additional flexibility with Thompson as he's going to get a max offer sheet just like Hayward did.
Plus the proposed trade has David Lee in it. It provides zero additional flexibility and locks them into a Lee/Thompson/Pek/Brewer/Rubio team for another two seasons.
Yeah, I edited my post above. I had a recollection of him being like in a 4 year $10 million per contract or such.
But after posting went to recheck, and definitely not what I was remembering. Not sure who I had in mind then.
So, now I don't know why the hard-on for him.
I don't want to make this a race thing, but Minnesota has shown a predilection towards white players, so that might go into it a bit too.
