What minutes would he get ?  How will he play over Love ?

With no Wiggins, and no Thompson, it's obvious who has the best package for Love.  It's Ainge.

Talented youth, Expiring's, & a chest full of unprotected 1st rounder's.  Just gotta wait the 30 days for this to be done as Smart will need to be included.

This was a great transaction. We're already 3 PFs and Cs deep without Hump. He was great for us last year but I'd place Sully and Kelly ahead of him on the PF depth for pure playing time/development and place him behind Zeller as a C.

Now if only we could off load a guard. Roster stands at 16 currently.

Is that the number of players under contract?

what have we done so far this season to put a better team on the court next season? I say nothing. We have not improved this team at all.

Well maybe I am looking at it from the wrong viewpoint. We have made moves to make tanking easier. That is for sure.

My friend, you are truly delusional!!!  how can you sit there and say this team is tanking with the additions we've made.
It appears to me that your sole objective in your posts is to cut the Celtics up with your constant tanking and rebuild garbage.
At the end of the season when the C's are preparing for the playoffs, I hope you and your mouth are still around to explain!!!!!

I thought we got 17:
1. Rajon Rondo
2. Gerald Wallace
3. Jeff Green
4. Marcus Thornton
5. Brandon Bass
6. Keith Bogans
7. Avery Bradley
8. Joel Anthony
9. Marcus Smart
10. Vitor Faverani
11. Kelly Olynyk
12. Tyler Zeller
13. James Young
14. Jared Sullinger
15. Chris Johnson
16. Chris Babb
17. Phil Pressey

Thanks for the clarification guys, you're both closer than I was. Is C. Iverson someone we have the rights to only? Just wondering if he'd be #18 or not. And I definitely omitted Bogans earlier since I just keep convincing myself we'll find a deal for him somehow lol

I am not sure if it is Danny's intention to tank, but psychologically this move may have alienated the Celtic's fan base.  May end up hurting ticket sales.

seriously? ticket sales are down because the team is not competitive yet. Letting Hump go is not going to alienate anyone...and this is coming from a fan of his who wanted to resign him. I wanted Hump if we get Love. Otherwise, it makes more sense to give the youngun's more minutes to mature.

Gotta love these threads! Even in the most idealistic world, Hump only gave us what we hope Sully and Olynyk will give us. He's still a PF, trying to masquerade as a rim-defender at times.

If anyone was going to give us value for that, I'm sure Danny would have cashed in. I don't understand why some people think Danny Ainge is trying to give away assets. If deals like this happen, it's because it's the best we could get.

But given that's the case, this is a positive. We gain a TPE, and we lose a redundant player. Hump never offered the C's anything Sully or Olynyk couldn't.

Conversely, I hope you and your mouth are around to prop up a straw man when we miss the playoffs again because our roster, right now, is hot garbage.

This is not a Celtics board anymore, just a whiner's paradise. it will be interesting to see how you connive your way back onto the C's bandwagon!!!
it's one thing to have an opinion as to the direction a team is going but to constantly be unhappy about the teams improvements because it wasn't of your choosing is ridiculous.

how is it "hot"?
I believe Gandhi is the only person who knew about real democracy — not democracy as the right to go and buy what you want, but democracy as the responsibility to be accountable to everyone around you. Democracy begins with freedom from hunger, freedom from unemployment, freedom from fear, and freedom from hatred.

hump is the same as most of the players on this roster - nice players coming of the bench for a contending team but get exposed the more mins. they play.
