Boston getting Tyler Zeller and 1st rounder from Cavs and Thorton from Nets

why did the nets pick karasev instead of zeller?

look... bogdanovic/karasev/brown/johnson/ and maybe anderson

and the question is would you play lopez as a starting center the whole season by not getting another injury? kg's limited minutes and plumlee's foul trouble problems

i know we need center, but why karasev over zeller, we could also used karasev though, since we have assets to get a center via trade

That was in reply to the idea of trading for Kevin Love, which would deplete Cleveland's assets of at least some of the players that you've just listed here.

my response was an alternative theory.

If I'm Lebron, if I have to give up more than Thompson & Bennett to get Love, I'd stick with the young guys.

Is this move contingent to Lebron signing with the Cavs? If it is and the trade gets cancelled when Lebron does not go to Cleveland, Celtics fans will hate Lebron even more!

Gotta go A. Not the overwhelming deal I wanted to use with the TE, I hate Thorton, and Zellers ceiling is low...

With that being said it's a no brainer. Getting an 11th draft pick over 5 years, a SG with an expiring and a young center with legit size is a no brainer for asset building.

This is a great trade.. we essentially gave up nothing and got a 1st rounder and a center in return. Tyler Zeller might not be very good, but given who we've started at center in the past, I think he'll be serviceable.

I think Andrew signed his rookie deal, so we have a month of a head start on Cleveland.  They'd also have to match salary and likely take back Martin in the deal. Not sure they have the contracts to get it done.
