Thornton was putting up 20 ppg not too long ago. I dont know if he plays the 2 more than the 1 but just glossing over thorntons numbers he seems like he can play

we now have 9 guards  ;D.

I feel we are guard heavy now. Another shoe must be dropping with someone going out.

right now we have rondo/smart/young/bradley/thorton

I am very happy that the Celtics are taking on more salary using their TPE. Even if it doesn't mean wins now it will mean wins eventually.

Marcus Thornton was a 20+ point scorer at the age of 23 maybe he can once again be a spark plug scorer off the bench.

If a star becomes available having another first is never a terrible thing.

Thornton's expiring, his salary doesn't impact the Celtics' future at all.

I hope Thornton never sees the court for the Celtics. Zeller is a serviceable center who can probably give the C's a decent 20-25 minutes per game. As far as Love goes, I think if James goes to Cleveland, the Cavs are also going to end up with Love. I like the move mainly because it brings in more assets and it gives the C's a decent center.

Exactly.

Also, is this the good Zeller sibling or the bad one? This is the bad one, right?

Bad one.  One who went to UNC.

Great trade, now we need to get rid of some of these guards.

Is the cavs pick unprotected? Imagine the pick wins the lottery again.

just checked zeller's stats. anyone know why his minutes decreased in his second year?
looks like he'd be good fit here, plenty of PT. liking this!
i think i remember him killing us a couple of times ::)

Varejao hardly played when Zeller was a rookie.  they basically just gave Varejao his minutes so Zeller played less.

But looking at stats, was more efficient and productive per minute so that's nice.

I like him from when I've watched him.  Not flashy but just a solid all around big guy.

Cody Zeller has been underwhelming at best at the professional level though.
