I know the announcers are loving pressey, but has anyone else been a bit disappointed with him running the point?  He has really struggled against the double team that MIA has been aggressive with.

these announcers are idiots. Listening to them, you'd think Napier and his 2-14 shooting is a superstar lottery pick and Smart was the late 1st rounder

They compared the physique of one of the players (not sure who) to Julius Peppers... ridiculous.  Peppers has 50 pounds of muscle on any of these players.

That was Babb.

First game notes on a few of the guys:

Smart:
Positives- Looked great defensively on the ball.  He caused all sorts of problems for Miami's guards, his defensive intensity should translate immediately to the NBA game.  With the ball in his hands he showed some glimpses of his offensive potential. Did a much better job than Pressey in breaking down Miami's double team strategy.

Negatives- Didn't seem like he fit in very well when he played off the ball with Pressey running the point.  His shot selection was also as advertised, very suspect. Shot some very quick threes that seemed forced.  Occasionally he gambled off his man defensively a little too much, in summer league this might be a good strategy( after all he did have 6 steals), but against a more experienced NBA side this could backfire.

Olynyk-  Not going to go into too much detail on Kelly as he was definitely the best player on the court.  He looks like he's in great shape, obviously he will never be the quickest guy but it's good to see someone who takes care of their body in the offseason.  He still seems a bit clunky at times with the ball, but hopefully he continues to become more smooth with experience.

Pressey- Well as I mentioned before, if you only listened to the announcers you would have thought he played a terrific game.  However, if you watched the game you were probably greatly disappointed with his performance.  He struggled massively for the first three quarters against Miami's double teams.  Defensively he was a pest which is good, but I definitely was expecting him to control the game with all the experience he got last year.
[/b]

I think he had 6 Turnovers...looked pretty bad to me.  I liked the Bedrins kid...he might be fight Pressey for a spot

Good game. Iverson was better than last year.  Kind of a waste of time having KO out there if you ask me.

Why didnt jackson nor anoseki play?

What's a waste of time ?

Especially in trade season, it's great to have Olynyk out there and it's even better that he plays well.  Just seeing how quickly his body changed made his stock go up.

I'd keep him personally, but having him out there showing the type of talent and upside he has is a plus.

I hope Noel has a great career, love seeing kids from Mass preform in the NBA.
You can't reason someone out of a position they didn't reason themselves into.

The game was fun to watch! (it's always good to beat the Heat even in Summer league)

- Mike Moser was great. (did not know him)
- Phil Pressey's defense was impressive
- Kelly Olynyk is a great all around player
- Marcus Smart is a tough guy and fun to watch
- I hope Colton Iverson keeps getting better in training camp because we need a legit center
- Chris & Chris had oke games but i expected more

-Smart looks like a confident player in the 4th quarter.
-KO looks much improved.
-Iverson looked pretty good, too.
-Pressey still can't shoot. Them handles, though.

Can't we just bring Gerald Green back?

Thanks. He kind of looked the part of the stats savant with all of the repetitive jiggles going on.
