Jeff isn't even overpaid so yeah this board could probably have a negative reaction no matter what this number is.

Green wasn't overpaid. He was adequately paid, his contract is a bargain.

You guys in general under value the market. If you're surprised every time a player is signed it simply means you don't have a proper estimation of the value of players in this league.

And by lowballing everyone around, you're just not going to get anything done.

Ugh...

First there were "fireworks"

Then there were "sparks"

Now we just lit a match that went out on its own.

We'll have to wait and see the terms but this could be a very good move.  Brian Windhorst pointed out on ESPN that a lot of teams have a lot of cap room this summer and if they miss out on the big stars, they could easily overpay for whomever is left.  Moving quickly like this may have avoided losing Bradley for nothing or having to pay him too much.

Mike

I'm convinced this is what Danny's doing by moving fast and early on a number of role players.  Get a discount locked in before the teams that miss out on the big guys start throwing their money around.

Bradley was asked to do too much last year, but he's a very useful role player who hopefully won't be carrying the offensive load as much going forward.  If this is true I'm glad he's back.

And that'll be the perfect time to deal Rondo. Jettison him to a team that struck out this summer with the hope one overpays.

I wonder how many teams besides Philly contacted AB.

Green is not a bargain, but I agree his contract is fair (though it hardly seemed so at the time when Jeff was coming off heart surgery).  And the rest of the 2012 free agent class was overpaid - JET, Bass, Lee - at least in the eyes of the trade market.

There is reason to be afraid.

  • Eagerly Awaiting the Next Fantasy Draft
Considering Jodie Meeks got around $19 MM over 3 years, I could see Bradley as high as 4/32 (although I hope it's lower). Hopefully there is some injury protection in there since Bradley seems to always be hurt.

Even if the Celtics aren't that good this year, the defense and turnover creation of our guards should be a lot of fun to watch. I just hope his contract isn't so high that it prevents us from having room for a max player next year.
DKC:  Rockets
CB Draft: Memphis Grizz
Players: Klay Thompson, Jabari Parker, Aaron Gordon
Next 3 picks: 4.14, 4.15, 4.19

Smart, young need time to play. And you figure that pressey has improved on his jump shot.

Bc it looks like we are not getting love, melo etc. Rondo should be traded for help upfront

Young turns 19 this August.  If he's getting a lot of time, we'd better have traded Rondo, Green, Bass and Bradley because we're pulling a Philly.

And I don't think this has anything to do with getting or not getting Love.

something to note though, Bradley is only 23 years old and despite his injuries has improved every year. He still has room to improve given his age. he could end up being a 16ppg guard who also can give you elite defense.

With Rondo/bradley/smart you have a solid guard rotation.
