Celtics Made Direct Call To Jordan Hill
Jul 01, 2014 8:24 AM EDT

The Boston Celtics have zeroed in on Jordan Hill as one of their free agent targets.

The Celtics contacted Hill directly when free agency opened. The club also reached out to his representation.

The Los Angeles Lakers are believed to be interested in retaining Hill, who averaged 9.7 points and 7.4 rebounds per game this past season.

Ideal starting center for this team. Good enough to make for not-ugly basketball, not good enough to win us many additional games.

Would be very happy if the price is right. Don't want to tie up too much money going forward on a stopgap solution.

Not exactly the kind of approach I was hoping the Celts would take with free agency ;D

Hill would be okay, I guess.

Would rather have Gortat or Monroe.

You'd have to subtract Bass and Green so we lose more games, counterbalance the games Gortat and Monroe win us.

Given that both of them ask more than $10 million a year -- no, you wouldn't :P

I think both guys are worth over 10 mil for what they provide.

I mean Rudy Gay is making 19 mil this year.

I think he's more of a center than Humphries and should come at less than half the price. I think this would be a good signing. Good not stellar center who could end up improving and be a steal.

I would rather have Monroe I believe he has All-Star potential even if it costs more. But if we aren't going to attempt to sign a more expensive big I would be satisfied with Hill and/or Ed Davis.
DKC:  Rockets
CB Draft: Memphis Grizz
Players: Klay Thompson, Jabari Parker, Aaron Gordon
Next 3 picks: 4.14, 4.15, 4.19

Doesn't mean he's worth it.

I'd rather take a chance on a young guy who we could get for cheap than blowing money on a luxury like a legit center who doesn't fit into our rebuilding plan at all.

I would say a legit center is more of a need than a luxury.

Right now, we don't "need" anything besides young guys, picks, and cap space. Settle in, brother.

I'll pay Gortat and Monroe 10 mil instantly in a HEARTBEAT...half the people on this thread wanted Asik...and Asik is worth just as much

and we still have a TPE

Jordan Hill is perfect for this team, provided we are not landing a big fish and giving a run at contention.
"We do so many defensive drills in practice, I come home and I'm putting the press on my woman, denying her the ball.
Y'all are laughing, but it's sad. I go home and deny the wing."
