the original rumor. Now it has expanded to the kings being involved.

Imo it has to do with they wanting Embiid who they know will likely drop to 6th plus can get one of the nice 8 players that will drop. Like Gordon or Vonleh.

Kings want Rondo but likely are not wanting to give up Mclemore in addition

Trying to get number one without moving rondo to send it to minny for love I'm guessing. I don't think the kings are involved.

No, I think the rumors were reported separately and hacks on Twitter combined the two to create excitement and attract attention. Not that we should be any less excited or pay any less attention, but I think Ainge is trying to accomplish these deals individually. This would be because if he is able to trade #6 and #17 on their own (and say Olynyk and Green) for the #1/filler, and then trade Rondo for #8/McLemore/filler, we'd have #1/#8. If he orchestrated the aforementioned 3-team trade, we'd end up with #1/#17. Granted we'd keep Olynyk/Green but I believe most would opt for #8 considering we'd be bottoming out anyway next year.

i don't believe any of this.  rondo and the 6th pick and all we get is parker or wiggins?   the team would be awful for years.     brad stevens would jump out a window mid year losing so much.

1, 17 and 33rd

Celtics are also after a 2nd round pick.

I would like 1st and 8th but that is going to be difficult. Again the cavs prob don't care for that deal and Sac is not likely to give up Mclemore

I wonder if the Cavs really believe that Embiid will drop to six?

imo yes

Wiggins
Parker
Exum (76ers will draft him bc of the connection he has with Brown)
Vonleh (has really moved up)
Smart/Randle
Embiid

Magic already have Vujicic
Jazz already have Favors. Unlikely both of these teams draft a high risk player like embiid.  76ers already went throgh the Bynum injury terror and already have Noel.

Embiid dropping to 6th is definitely possible. The cavs already like Bennett from what i read and don't want to start again with Wiggins/Parker at the sf spot.  Embiid is a risky pick but could end up becoming a steal.  The 8th pick is just for insurance in case they mess up the draft

Never mind, question answered.  You are correct. The same sportscaster later tweeted about 3-team trade scenarios here: https://twitter.com/JohnTelich8/status/481954856496660480

not sure. But he is a broadcaster and usually these guys don't put out crap out there.  He probably has friends from the organization that know a thing or two. Prob things are being ironed out right about now. Or the announcement will happen on draft night

Reading the replies, he seems to be a very respectable Cleveland reporter.

I don't believe it, but I would love it if we could get Wiggins.
In the summer of 2017, I predicted this team would not win a championship for the next 10 years.

3 down, 7 to go.

There's NO WAY that trade is happening. It would be one of the worst trades in Celtics history. Cavs fantasy.
