The only Rondo trade that would PERHAPS get me excited would be Mclemore, Isaiah Thomas, #8, and maybe a future first to seal the deal...

How much do you want to pay Thomas in free agency?  He's not under contract next year.

Here's to hoping they somehow end up with nick young at SG and change their name to Sacramento chuckers.

C's

#8 pick
McLemore
Williams

Pistons

Landry
Thompson
Terry

Kings

Rondo
Smith

Perhaps a future 2nd rd pick or two goes to Detroit. Or maybe we'd have to take either Landry or Thompson, instead of Williams, in order for Detroit to receive another expiring deal.

this trade is awful for us...

need more picks or involve wallace contract

Disagree. Not getting Love will have a negative impact on our ability to re-sign Rondo. So then we'd be in a position to either lose him outright or overpay him to retain him. With this trade we'd have the #6 and #8 picks in this loaded draft and the talented McLemore who was the 7th pick in last year's draft and still only 21. Adding McLemore also protects us against the possibility of Bradley bolting for a more lucrative offer.

pg: rondo
sg:?
sf:gay
pf: smith
 c: cousins

that would be a [dang] good starting 5

Have to get a sharpshooter at SG, but that has a ton of potential. I figure Rondo/Cousins would be a lot like Rondo/Shaq - dominant. And then Rondo & Smith would be pretty dynamic together - lots of KG-esque alley oops. I also think Gay would benefit from a PG like Rondo, I think he's become to reliant at having to create his own shot, getting someone to make his like easier would likely help his efficiency. They'd be a pretty intriguing club in the West - as long as Cousins continues to progress. Eventually the Spurs will start to fade - likely the Tim Duncan retires after next season. That lineup matches up well with the like of OKC and LAC.
so what you are saying is rondo makes his teammates better??
i'd hope we are keeping him to make our team better

Well my first inclination is to keep him, but with Danny Ainge as our GM... Who knows what our roster will look like Friday morning.
2021 Houston Rockets

SG: OG Anunoby/Norman Powell/Matisse Thybulle
SF: Gordon Hayward/Demar Derozan

I would pay him anywhere in between $4.5-6m to make salaries match in the deal rather than have to take back another horrible contract like Derrick Williams or Landry... And he would be a pretty good Pg of the bench (sort of like nate robinson) if we get smart or Exum in the draft...

I think he can get around $7-$8m in free agency,

I doubt it but its possible so then offer him $6.5-7m max but id def want him as part of any Rondo trade to fill an obvious weakness at PG.. Id also strongly consider Payton at #8 if Smart and Exum r off the board..

Ben Mclemore doesn't get me all that excited.  In fact, ultimately, I think Bradley has the better career over Mclemore.

I hold onto Rondo in any Sac deal.  You need a kings ransom for this type of PG, & the kings don't have it unless Cousins is somewhere on the table.

I think that's wishful thinking - if Jeff Teague and Brandon Jennings can get $8m per, I think IT at least gets in into the $7m range. And I also think he's going to look for an opportunity to be a full-time starter. Yes, he's a restricted free agent but you still need his cooperation in any sign & trade.

If we pulled off that pipe-dream trade (doubt Kings do it for a Rondo rental), I'd try to re-route Thomas to a 3rd team for another pick.  I like Mclemore and I like #8... Thomas is undersized and not a viable long-term option as a starter.

1. Wiggins
2. Parker
3. Exum
4. Vonleh
5. Embiid
6. Gordon
7. Smart
8. Randle, Payton, etc.

So we'd be guaranteed two of the players from this list? Pretty good. Pretty, Prettttttyyy gooood!

I would take one of the PGs (Smart or Payton) and one of the PFs/Cs (Embiid, Vonleh, Gordon).

all show, and probably won't be much of a threat to the spurs, or thunder...2nd round exit in my opinion

2nd round exit would be a big deal for the KINGS! I think they'd take that in year one without a doubt! Plus, that team would be YOUNG and able to gel in the next few years. Well, fairly young. Boogie is young. Rondo, Gay and Smith are all nearing 30 but likely have 3-5 years of solid production left.

The question is...if we get #8...are we planning on drafting 6, 8 and 17....OR are we packaging 6+8 for 1 or 2, and grabbing Parker?

Stop fantasizing about Parker. I don't want him.
