LeBron should consider going to Houston because a Harden, LeBron & Dwight trio would be incredible - clearly the best offer in my opinion.

However, I think LeBron stays in Miami. They have a great infrastructure there. Good talent around him. Won titles and made 4 Finals appearances in as many years since he joined them. That is an awful lot to walk away from. I doubt he is ready to do that just yet. I think this FA moment may have come a year or two too early for LeBron to leave Miami.

Good talent around him?  Lol wut?  That team is worse than his Cleveland squads.  His body language after the second quarter of that final game gave us all the information we need - Lebron feels very let down by the poor performance of his teammates.  Specifically Wade and Bosh.  Lebron had to play crazy minutes the entire season, JUST so Wade could be fully rested come playoff time.  Wade basically played half a season, and almost no back-to-backs.  And yet he STILL kept getting blown past on defense and bricking shot after shot.  If I was Lebron, I'd be pretty disgusted too.

And they've got $40 million locked up in Wade and Bosh next year!!  How does that even remotely resemble "great infrastructure?"

Infrastructure = coaching staff, front office and ownership

Talent = Wade and Bosh are still very good players. They are not riff-raff. They are All-Stars caliber talents.

Is he opting out... then join in again (not sure if that's even possible) in lower pay cut just to have extra cap space for Melo?

I will really not watch basketball if Melo ends up with Miami with the super friends.

This really isn't huge news...Was really his only option. He wasn't going to opt in to that deal, because, 1) It'd leave Miami no room to operate in FA & 2) Bosh & Wade would not take big pay cuts, if LeBron wasn't showing that he was willing to do the same.

The big fish in the Miami scenario is Wade...No way he gets the money he's lined up to earn on the FA market...If he opts out, then that likely means he's doing so, well aware of a bigger plan by Riley that includes LeBron.

I hope he goes to Houston so that we can keep making fun of him for being a front runner.

Yeah exactly.

My guess is all 3 of them opt out and restructure their contracts so they are making less per year so Riley can go after free agents.

What Miami really needs is a point guard and center, so it wouldn't surprise me if they target guys like Gortat, Okafor, Hawes, Lowry, Mo Williams, etc.

If anyone is a goner, I think it's Chalmers.

By the way, I also don't think Melo joins them in Miami.

There's just no way that could feasibly work for all parties involved, especially when Melo can fetch almost 130 million over 5 years, staying in NYC.

I doubt he'll go to the West... Spurs is the King of the West  unless...

  • Boston Celtics= Championships, nothing less.
Ok, so first we get Lebron, then we get Melo?

Rondo at the point, Lebron and Melo alternate the SF/PF.

Three point shooters all the way down the bench, with a nice rim protector or two.
"We are lucky we have a very patient GM that isn't willing to settle for being good and coming close. He wants to win a championship and we have the potential to get there still with our roster and assets."

quoting 'Greg B' on RealGM after 2017 trade deadline.
Read that last line again. One more time.

Don't forget Durant at the 2 and Dwight Howard at the 5 with Blake Griffin coming off the bench.

Yeah I thought maybe Houston is a possibility if they clear the space. He would make a great trio with Harden and Howard.

But why leave the EC, which is cleary an inferior conference where he's viewed by far as the best player.

In the West he's got alot more to contend with and if there's anything that can unravel Lebron, it's adversity on a nightly basis.

Call him up Rondo! Use that trade exception Danny!

I sign LeBron in 2k every time. Fun to dream, but seriously, I was just thinking of how loud the garden would get if we had him! I know all of my hatred would immediately dissolve if he were a Celt.

Just one thing LeBron....#6 is taken  ;D

He was paid the same as bosh and wade and had to do 150 percent more work.

Bosh was like a number 3 guy and wade played less and less due to his injury.

Lebron might be back but wants the owner to be like the nets owner and overspend and he is going to want max dollars for his next contract

I disagree on your definition of infrastrcture.  Sure, it does include those things.  But it's also got to include a team's salary cap situation, future draft picks, fan support etc.  Furthermore, Mickey Arrison has not proven to be a great owner.  He was a well known cheapskate before Lebron came to town.

Wade is not an All-star caliber player.  What universe are you living in?  Neither is Bosh.  he's morphed into 35 year old Sam Perkins.  All he does is shoot 3's, and he doesn't even average 5 rpg anymore!

I would feel dirty rooting for him on the Celtics.
