He's not going anywhere...as many have said this is the beginning of restructuring contracts to fit more parts in. Nothing to see here...

This isn't exactly shocking news.

Opting out gives Miami more flexibility to improve its roster.  If the three of them stayed in, Miami would be screwed.  This is about giving Miami a fighting chance to bring in free agents and get better.

I still think there is about a 75% chance he's back with Miami in '14-15.

This really isn't huge news.

The big news is that, at least initially, this doesn't appear to be coordinated with Wade or Bosh's decisions.

as long as this doesn't get dragged out and become the sequel to "The Decision"...

that's because they hold no cards. Lebron holds 'em all.

This is HUGE for us.  Teams are gonna be trying to clear space and get players.  Particularly Houston.  we could potentially get lin, parsons, Asik for jeff green, sully..future draft picks.  and either Keep rondo or trade him somewhere else.  If we keep rondo, we get a good shot at Love especially if Lebron moves west.  If we dont keep rondo, we use the 6th pcik on exum or smart and the 17th on a backupSG/SF.  You know Houston is goin all in for Melo or Lebron and either one of those guys would put them over the top

Maybe, maybe not...Bosh & Wade know that LeBron is the main domino and that his decision would force management's hand more than theirs. But, I could see that angle and respect your thought.

The salary cap for net season is 63.2 million and the Heat's payroll was 69.4m before he opted out, not including cap holds for roster spots.  Even if he takes a 5m pay cut, they are still over the cap.  If Wade does the same, that still leaves very little room.

I think he's leaving to find an easier path to another championship.

If he wants to win, he should 1. Stay in the East 2. Go where the talent is

Cleveland - Irving, (Wiggins or Parker), Waiters, Thompson, Bennett, Varajeo, Zeller, Jack

Philly - Carter-Williams, Exum, Noel, (Carmelo or Bosh) Young, Wroten, Mullens

like it! I'd love to try and get Parson especially. I guess a team with Rondo, Parsons, etc would be nice. Hopefully enough to keep Rondo in Boston.

that would be so "LeBron" of LeBron to come here and go to a city that's not fond of him and make it completely unenjoyable for the fans if we won a championship.
