Still, it leaves the door open to more news, whereas not opting out would have closed off an avenue of speculation.

Yup.  If it was a coordinated effort with Wade and Bosh to bring more players to the Heat, the opt outs would have been announced together.  He's leaving.

I still think there is nothing to see here. buuuuutt it is a little interesting. Should be a fun off-season. As long as some things work out for our Celtics haha

Yup.  If it was a coordinated effort with Wade and Bosh to bring more players to the Heat, the opt outs would have been announced together.  He's leaving.
He's open to leaving certainly, but he needs to hear a pitch that he'll buy into more than the Heat's.

The Heat are going to pitch him as well. Riley is working on it right now.

They do, but the rule only pertains to contract extensions.  Free agents can sign for any amount lesser they want.

Meaning, if Lebron wanted to (not that he will), he could sign for the vet minimum.

Imo lebron is going back to the cavs. Especially with some of the clues his wife has said .

He is going to ask the team to draft wiggins and pickup a legit center by trading a combo of bennett, thompson , waiters
