Im praying the magic take Gordon.  But if they do and Jazz take Vonleh, Do we draft Embiid, smart, or randle? In that case I would hope we have the 7th or 8th pick as well in a rondo trade.

If Gordon and Vonleh go ahead of Embiid, this is really a best-case scenario for Boston. Gordon and Vonleh have to be high on the Cs radar, but if they are gone, then they really don't have to 2nd guess themselves with Embiid. I like Smart, but not sure he makes a ton of sense for this current team.

I'd take Smart/Gordon + Nurkic over Embiid + whoever at this point. Trading up a few spots (from 17) for Nurkic will also be much cheaper than trading up from 6 to grab Embiid (as some have insanely suggested).

This draft is so deep with high-upside guys and this team has so many needs that the risks greatly outweigh the potential reward of Embiid at 6 or earlier. His bust potential is astronomically high at this point- far higher than his chances of ever reaching or even approaching his ceiling. Gordon's realistic worst-case scenario is a high energy role-player/great defender. His upside is nightly double-double/triple-double threat. He's basically a bird in the hand already, and could easily transform into two.

I'd be satisfied with Gordon or Smart, but if our draft turn comes up and Embiid is available, I will be quite upset if his name isn't called. His potential is just too good to pass up. For the top 5 teams I can understand them not wanting to take the risk, but the 6th pick isn't the top pick, we absolutely need a center and we do have another draft pick.

I kinda hope Gordon is gone by the time the Celtics pick.  I'd hate to regret passing over him if he pans out and he's picked after us  but I can also see the bust potential there and don't want the opportunity to pick him (which I think Ainge will do if he's there).

If that makes any sense.

Gordon was finally moved up to 6 today by draftexpress. They stopped playing devil's advocate and started getting realistic.

I'd still take Embiid if he's available. Even if Embiid loses his athleticism to injuries, he still has enough talent to be an above average center on both sides of the court, which is what we need most.

I would think hard about it, too. I would really want to watch him shooting. If it is true that he has made strides improving his shooting form, then wow. He does everything else besides shooting soooo well... if he can be an average shooter in the NBA, then he is the best prospect in the draft. Far more skilled at finishing, passing and handling than Wiggins, and superior defensively, too.
