Still several teams pursuing Kevin Love who don't believe Minnesota's Flip Saunders is in a deal-making mode -- yet.

Oh great...I'm hopeful the Golden State deal happens. This should not happen with Boston, those picks are too valuable.

This is what I hope. Check this out.

So Golden State and Minny agree to a deal and are about to put pen to paper.

Then, Kevin Love crashes the party and says "NO! I will not opt in for the 2015-16 season with Golden State. The only team in which I will not only opt in for the 2015-16 season but sign a long-term extension with is Boston."

Then Golden State walks away, and Minnesota has no other choice but to deal Love to Boston for your precious draft picks.

I would PAY for this to happen.

Boston needs to become competitive immediately if they want to convince Rondo to stay.  How can do they do that without trading for Kevin Love?  This will be an interesting summer.

Those picks are overrated.

Good for Golden State.  HOnestly at this point, the best course of action for Boston appears to be...

#1 - Hope that Embiid is out for a season... trade up to secure his services.  Most teams will not want to go the Philly/Noel route, but Boston can.

#2 - Trade Rondo for additional young assets.

#3 - Hang onto the rest of the youth... tank again and see what we have next Summer.

This us pretty close to what I'm seeing ,    Go for Embiid,...do the Philly route take a year yo heal him up,  trade Rondo for assets, tank away for 2015.

how are they overrated.. let reality sink in here love is a one year rental no matter what team he gets traded to hes going to be a free agent.

just on that alone.. twolves have no leverage at all they have to take the best offer available.. they would be lucky if they even got a top 10 pick in any draft

Love has an option year - I expect whatever team that trades for him will expect him to pick it up as a condition of the deal.  Same thing the Clips did with Chris Paul.

They have until next summer. If they bring in some good players before the start of the 15/16 season Rondo's not going to leave.

That's not a lot of time.

If the kings offer 8, mclemore, and a future pick then I think ainge will bite.

By trading for Melo instead.  Sounds like he is one of Danny's targets, considering the recent comments Rondo made.

Melo makes far more sense on this team than Love - a much better fit IMHO. Love is a good player, but IMHO just is not a good fit on this team.

Put a strong supporting cast together, including a defensive center, and hope you have a shot at the eighth seed.  Plan A is to trade for someone who becomes available mid-season.  Plan B is to have a team that is set to become a contender if a free agent superstar walks through that door or gets traded for in the summer of 2015.

If he wants to contend then melo needs to go get his max deal with harden parsons and Dwight.
