If we're speculating that Embiid is out of the top 3, who would be your new top 3?

Even Vonleh could sneak in at 3 to Philly, to stretch the floor next to Noel and to help guard centers.

Young clinicians who have not managed navicular stress fractures may do well to advise patients to have at least 6, but preferably 8 weeks of nonweightbearing cast immobilization after this injury.

Draft is really going to be something to watch...it's going to be an interesting night.

The authors could find no advantage for surgical treatment compared with NonWeightBearing immobilization.

Professor Torg is a famous foot surgeon. When the surgeon advocate against surgery, it pays to listen.

Unfortunately surgery is no magic bullet for this frustrating condition.  Take the time to heal it properly in the first instance and avoid a premature end to career. The word around the courts is that when in college, Michael Jordan managed his navicular stress fracture the way Professor Torg suggested above. Seems like he did OK.

I'd be shocked if Philly drafted for need with the third pick.

Draft night will be interesting indeed. If Love ends up in Golden State and Embiid drops to us you have to take him right?

It's a stress fracture of the navicular bone.

Interesting bit from that second article you linked, which would advise against Embiid having surgery:

Quote
Potter and colleagues discussed this injury in the linked paper in 2006. A recent meta-analysis reviewed over 30 years of literature and conclued in favour of conservative management in the first instance.

Joseph S Torg, the pre-eminent navicular stress fracture researcher, concluded ?Non-weightbearing conservative management should be considered the standard of care for tarsal navicular stress fractures. The authors could find no advantage for surgical treatment compared with NWB immobilization?.

Professor Torg is a famous foot surgeon. When the surgeon advocate against surgery, it pays to listen.

Edit: Norther Lightning beat me to the punch, but he can't quote.

As opposed to who? Exum?

I guess you still got a punch in after all.

That's my best guess, or possibly Smart.

Exum is a lot like MCW, and Smart is somewhat of the same kind of player. They can draft a shooter at #10 that will pair better with MCW.

Not saying they definitely won't draft Exum or Smart, but without one of Wiggins or Parker falling to them, I wouldn't consider it shocking if they just took Vonleh.

He's definitely in that tier, for sure -- although Exum seems to have held on to his mystique throughout the whole process, and at 6'6 whoever drafts him is hoping he can probably play the 2.

Embiid has stress fracture in foot, Celtics still interested

http://www.csnne.com/blog/celtics-talk/embiid-has-stress-fracture-foot-celtics-still-interested
Article states we may look to move up to grab him.
Would Orlando, Philly or Utah take 6 and a future protected pick for 3-5?
