This whole thread has seemed to focus more on Love's need to win and giving him excuses because Minny didn't put people around him, or the Minny management suck or a number of other things. But what SAS said was they didn't like him.

What if the reason they don't like him is because he has a huge ego, thinks he is never the one doing anything wrong is is just a dirtbag?

People are jumping to all sorts of conclusions hear based on his game but what if Love is just a nasty ass person to be around and that's why people don't like him. It would explain some things as to why that team with that talent last year didn't gel. And maybe explain the poor performance in other years.

I'm not saying that is the case but its something that many here are just not taking into consideration. If he is just a dink, would you still want him on the Celtics being a cancer here rather than Minnesota?

Nick has made an interesting point.  I think that the discussions about Love on this site prove that he is an NBA version of a Rorschach test.  People see in Love what they wish him to be and then cherry-pick facts, and then lines of argumentation, to justify their "interpretations" of the Love Enigma...

The Wolves roster is horrible.  Every player is flawed.  The two guys who can score- pekovic and Martin can't guard anyone.  Rubio can't shoot.  Didn't looked good for a few weeks.  I don't see how people think that the Wolves should have been better than they were.

Couldn't one make exactly the same observations about the current Celts squad?  Don't Rondo, Green, Olynyk and Sullinger resemble flawed and/or limited players with other individual areas of expertise?  Rondo can't shoot and has all kind of attitude and coachability issues, Green is asleep half the time, Olynyk can't defend and Sully struggles around the basket and can't defend certain players.  If one or more of these players is traded to Minny for Love, will Love be in the same dead-end situation in Boston as he is currently in? 

And yet, I see poster after poster here screaming about how we simply MUST trade Sully and three (or even FOUR) 1st rounders, including both from this draft.  Even with an extension for Rondo, a trade for Love is merely an intermediate move which will leave us still very very far from Shangri-La...

Difference is management. The Celtics management is way better the Timberwolves. I disagree with your assessment with the Celtics players.

The assessment I offered is for argument's sake.  In fact, I am very much against trading Sully (or Rondo or Olynyk) and multiple 1st rounders for Love.  I think that in spite of the weaknesses in their games, both Sully and Olly will develop into PF's who are of comparable talent and production as Love.  Love is a terrible defender who just doesn't play hard when the other team has the ball.  I'll take my chances with Sully, Olly and with Danny making those three or four 1st round picks that so many wish to waste in a Love trade.

You are absolutely right that the difference is management.  The Celtics have been bad for exactly one season now.  The Wolves have been bad for about 10 seasons.  The Celtics also have tons of assets to turn things around quickly.

One source close to the Wolves said that while Flip Saunders does not want to trade Love, he realizes the team likely will lose him this summer and the package the Celtics are offering is probably the best he's going to get.
