I haven't been here that long but I already see how this thread plays out.

The Heat and especially the Spurs play a total team basketball game. Everyone is involved and nobody has or pounds the ball for more than 5 sec. Rondo on the other hand has the ball usually in his possession for 10 sec or more, before letting the ball go (sometimes asking for it back). So if rondo played for the spurs could he adapt and succeed in their system?

It's always been like that.I personally think it would be better, still saying Tony Parker is a great player in his own right. They have enough shooters otherwise and they get the best passer in the league, a better defender and rebounder in the exchange? A guy who is clutch in the playoffs too? They can do without one shooter.
Not as effectively, no. Whether you love Rondo or not, the fact is he's not a good shooter and suffers offensively when the ball is out of his hands.

Parker was at 4.8 during the season and just over 5 seconds in the playoffs. So when he has the ball in his hands it's generally for the same amount of time as Rondo. And, just out of curiosity, why does getting the ball back after you pass it to someone else disqualify you from the Spurs offense? Do they have some rule against the same player touching the ball more than once in a possession?

It's a discussion
It's pretty much the same reason he was going to get cut on Team USA, he simply needs to ball in his hands to be effective. A lot of players are like this though, not just Rondo. On a side-note, how much fun would Rondo vs Pop be? Instant drama.
