Cleveland has this years No. 1 overall pick, a lot of underachieving youth, and the sneaky rumor that owner Dan Gilbert doesn't care if Love won't commit to an extension. Love would be his hook to lure LeBron James back to Cleveland. Then the conversation just might change.

Oh boy not only us but the entire league is probably hoping this doesn't happen. Kyrie/Love/LeBron would be scary.

Disregarding the fact that this would mean the Cs NOT getting Love, I have no problem with this. I'm already resigned to the fact that LeBron's gonna win a bunch of titles and go down as perhaps the greatest player ever--making him the latest in my personal chain of league-favored greats whom I can't stand (Jordan, Kobe, LeBron)--but I'd much rather see him win in Cleveland with those two than in Miami with Duh-wayne Wade and Chris Bosh.

I use to think that way about Lebron going back to CLE and winning a ship. But After the latest draft lottery i truly hate the Cavs...somethings fishy, and its not Miley Cyrus

I'm totally not down with Cleveland's recent run of lottery "luck," and Dan Gilbert seems to be a doofus, and picking Anthony Bennett was truly foolish ... but at least it's not Dirty Duh-wayne and Judas Allen and Bosh.

Well I guess its 2 vs 1.....The Miley Cyrus fishy smell from the draft Vs Judas Turncloak Allen and Dirty D Wade

i really hope this happens so that klove will leave in free agency, especially next year when we'll have the cap space to sign him (if he gets traded to warriors or bulls hes there to stay)

so its ok for us to endure the worry of Love staying or Leaving after this season but its not ok for the cavs fans to have to worry?

Anyways i know your worried about this and that a celtics/wolves deal is not in the bag.

The Cavs i can totally see doing this trade. Knowing how lucky this team has been in the last 10-12 years via draft, they will prob win a few more 1st picks regardless

There's nothing to really worry about for celtics fans, the Cavs won't trade the #1 pick for Love. We have a better chance of seeing Lebron sign with the celtics this summer than that happening.

Anyway, with all the assets Ainge has, I'm sure Love is not his only option. He has plans B, C, D, etc to use those assets to land a legit franchise cornerstone to pair with Rondo.

Poor Dan if only he could trade the #1 for cleveland. The problem here is not players or draft picks. Its CLEVELAND.

Hope it happens bc we have no chance at love then

To wolves:  1st,  thompson,  waiters, gee, hopson
To cavs: love, 13th pick

Don't get your hopes up, partner!

You've got a better chance of seeing California Chrome on the starting 5 for Cleveland than you do of seeing Love and Lebron.

i can care less what the Cavs do actually. All i know is that if they offer the #1 for Love and 13th nobody can beat that offer. Or highly unlikely they can

Kevin love will not resign with Cleveland. Seriously, would YOU resign in Cleveland, would anyone? Dan Gilbert should be tied to a boulder and rolled into the ocean if he makes this move.

bc you want love?? The cle fans won't mind this trade at all. I'm sure they are sick and tired of 1st after 1st , top 5 picks after top 5 picks.  They are like cursed since Lebron left

If i was Gilbert i would trade the 1st for Love but i also need the 13th

Called this an hour before the rumor leaked. Kevin Love will not resign with Cleveland. Why waste the number one pick on a rental player?

Also cursed? cursed??! They've won the number one pick in the draft THREE OUT OF FOUR YEARS!!! Any competent franchise would be on their way to being a contender now. Except they draft Bennett and blow it. Cleveland has been extremely lucky and fortunate since Lebron left, at least lottery wise.

this could be the kinda deal that gets a gm fired, or loved by their fans forever. trade a #1 pick for love in the hopes tht u get lebron? wat if lebron doesnt wanna go back, and wat if love leaves after the season? risky...but i hear fortune favors the bold, so lets wat happens.

I guess this begs the question: it sounds like you would rather us draft Aaron Gordon than acquire Kevin Love? Is that accurate?

I think its fair to say triboy would rather have a lineup of

Marcus Smart
Nik Stauskas
Aaron Gordon
Kelly Olynyk
Josef Nurkic

than

Rajon Rondo
Arron Afflalo
Jeff Green
Levin Love
Marc Gasol

not that these lineups are remotely realistic but triboys's love for youth seriously clouds his ability to judge what type of team can actually win in the NBA.

It's highly unlikely that they will though.....

why??

Gilbert looks desperate to get back to the top again.  Embiid won't help the cavs get anywhere for a few years. He is so young and raw still
But Boston with Gordon/Smart and Kelly Olynyk would be in the playoffs in their second year together?
Tommy Heinsohn:"Worst nightmare in the NBA is Rondo with a jump shot." B-)

This wouldn't be terrible...if we really are one of the places Love would sign next season because there is 0% chance he re-signs in Cleveland.

Might make our pitch for him even better. We've got the 6th pick, Rondo, our young forwards plus we have a lot more assets to go get a 3rd star.

sure and you think having two B class players that want max money will win us a championship?

the 2nd lineup you suggest will never happen anyways

This is probably one of those threads that could have used the qualifier of "Rumor" in front of its title.

How is Kevin Love a B class player?

Has he helped his team get to the playoffs yet??
Is he a good two way player??
He has shot overall for his career 44 percent (FG). is that good for a premier PF in this league??

He is no different than a guy like Carmelo Anthony.  Even if they make the playoffs, they are not efficient scorers and don't play the kind of defense that can help you win it all
