Cleveland has this years No. 1 overall pick, a lot of underachieving youth, and the sneaky rumor that owner Dan Gilbert doesn't care if Love won't commit to an extension. Love would be his hook to lure LeBron James back to Cleveland. Then the conversation just might change.
Why not? When you're in a city like Cleveland you have to make some gambles to put a team together.

So yea, I can see the Cavs doing it.
Hope it happens bc we have no chance at love thenTo wolves: 1st, thompson, waiters, gee, hopsonTo cavs: love, 13th pick

Yes, there are guys that look like they might be perennial all stars, but there is no "sure thing". Meanwhile, Love is a proven 25/10 guy whose 25 years old and hasn't even entered his prime. If they could put together a package that Minnesota would accept, Cleveland would be absolutely stupid not to trade for Love. Kyrie/Love/Deng is a team that could get to the ECF. A run like that might actually make both players want to stay, and then they have a core for the next 5 years.

Kyrie/Love/LeBron would be scary.
The price to land love just keeps getting higher and higher. At some point even the most fervent Love supporters will have to admit the price is too high.
