Cleveland has this years No. 1 overall pick, a lot of underachieving youth, and the sneaky rumor that owner Dan Gilbert doesn't care if Love won't commit to an extension. Love would be his hook to lure LeBron James back to Cleveland. Then the conversation just might change.

Oh boy not only us but the entire league is probably hoping this doesn't happen. Kyrie/Love/LeBron would be scary.

Why not? When you're in a city like Cleveland you have to make some gambles to put a team together.

Trading the #1 pick in an epic draft, which would be cost controlled for a number of years, for a guy who is likely to leave your team next summer, is crazy. So yea, I can see the Cavs doing it.

Its the draft.  There is no guarantee it or an of the players in it are going to be "epic". Yes, there are guys that look like they might be perennial all stars, but there is no "sure thing".  Meanwhile, Love is a proven 25/10 guy whose 25 years old and hasn't even entered his prime.  If they could put together a package that Minnesota would accept, Cleveland would be absolutely stupid not to trade for Love.  Kyrie/Love/Deng is a team that could get to the ECF.  A run like that might actually make both players want to stay, and then they have a core for the next 5 years.

Maybe you missed the part about the pick being a cost controlled player for a number of years, which for a small market team who is going to offer Irving the max, is a huge deal. Nevermind thinking they can afford Irving at the max, Love at the max, Lebron at the max, and Deng. That's crazy talk.

Triboy prefers to lose Rondo and build with Sullinger, KO, and the 6th pick.

Disregarding the fact that this would mean the Cs NOT getting Love, I have no problem with this. I'm already resigned to the fact that LeBron's gonna win a bunch of titles and go down as perhaps the greatest player ever--making him the latest in my personal chain of league-favored greats whom I can't stand (Jordan, Kobe, LeBron)--but I'd much rather see him win in Cleveland with those two than in Miami with Duh-wayne Wade and Chris Bosh.

The price to land love just keeps getting higher and higher. At some point even the most fervent Love supporters will have to admit the price is too high.
