Seriously, can people stop posting numbers as if they really help you compare players.  Numbers aside, Gibson is considerably better than sully right now.  And big Al was a much better prospect than sully is right now.

Period.

Yeah, screw evidence. The perception and memory of fans is always more reliable...
This is the NBA.  Everyone can play.  So even on bad teams, someone has to score and get rebounds.  You numbers say as much about your teammates as they do about you.

So what are you saying? That Sullinger isn't that good of a player than the numbers suggest, because he played for a bad team?
I am saying in most cases, you can't take the numbers from two players in different situations and compare them.  I mean, you can but it obviously isn't that simple.

Sully's numbers are decent.  But people want to look at them, at this stage of his career, and make some kind of linear projection without regard to his talent.  And as far as talent, I simply see role player.  Not a horrible thing but not what many others are saying either.

You just reminded me of of the Gerald Green = T-Mac days on this board. Oh, fun times...

yeah, we do and i think a lot of other players on other teams go underrated as well. but that's what fans do.

You follow our players closely and watch them play a lot, so you see all their flaws on a regular basis. You don't see much of players on other teams so you don't know about their flaws. That's why you underrate our players/overrate other players, but that's what fans do.

Since I play fantasy, I actually do follow a bunch of players on other teams, and I don't mean just based on stats. The NBA is interesting general so I read up on all types of players. Granted, I don't know everything about every player but I'd like to think that I have a pretty wide view of the league.

And my statement was not meant to put down our players while putting on a pedestal other teams' players. I meant it as a general observation of this board. Btw, you conveniently ignored how I said that a less popular guy like Jeff Green is probably underrated by posters on here as well, so see, I'm not the anti-homer you seem to be trying to paint me as.

My post comes from say, when a guy like Rubio gets brought up. I've seen posts on here calling him a scrub and a bust. Another example is when a guy like Terrence Jones gets brought up and he's practically ignored or he barely gets any props. In last year's offseason, a guy like Drummond was getting the whole "why would we want him??" treatment by a bunch of posters as well. Meanwhile, Sully and KO are supposed to be practically as good as Love in a couple of years??

That's what I'm getting at.

There are similar posts on both sides. I can recall posts last year putting Drummond's offensive game somewhere between Howard's and Shaq's. There are also plenty of Jones fans here.

A point to keep in mind in any deal is "leverage."

"Sully has warts."

The Timberwolves are not going to get Kevin Love back in a trade. This is the first evidence of leverage in this deal. The Timberwolves are in the process of "settling for less."

The next leverage issue for Flip? His player is g-o-n-e. Flip has no options here except try to get a bidding war. In effect, he does not have enough leverage to get that either.

Transparency is in play here. All the teams know what all the other teams have, they know what they have and most important of all, they all know Jeff Schwartz and "which way the wind is blowing."

Flip has no leverage. He is going to get what he is going to get as the two or three teams who "have enough assets" and the desire to give them up, decide who wins. This decision has already been made.

"You are getting Jared Sullinger, warts, picks and filler and you are going to like it....your player has already left the building.....he's at Fenway Park watching a game that the Twins aren't playing in....oh wait, games over...he's at bar where the Celtics people drink now...fancy that."

Now Mr. Saunders has to put on the "good show." He has make it look like he's getting a good deal when he isn't.

We all need to keep the following in mind, Jeff Schwartz and Kevin Love need to be in the right market to sell "Kevin Love stuff." This player is a marketing organization. He gets money for wearing sneakers, drinking beer, driving Chevrolets and buying (green) paint at Home Depot. Lebron earns 5 times his $19M salary in endorsements...you have 3 seconds to answer the following...."Where do the Minnesota Timberwolves play their home games?"

I rest my endorsement case.

Jeff Schwartz does not earn a big check when Kevin Love recommends "Twin City Dodge dealers." Jeff Schwartz does far better when his client is playing on one of the greatest sports franchises in history. Got it Flip?

Flip Saunders became a spectator when Love said good bye. Jeff Schwartz talked to Flip and they figured what would be best for all parties and Love got on a direct flight to Logan Airport in Boston Massachusetts.

Lethal post and quite spot on.
Goal for next season: Top 2 seed.
Say goodbye to: Turner, Zeller, Sully.

and rondo can make some good plays for pacers with hibbert points will increase

bradley fits the OKC, back-up SG or not

bass fits rockets or clippers (floor spacer)

green fits a team that needs SF
