Although, I definitely don't want to see Paul Pierce having to come off the bench like that.
1) I don't get why you posted this, no offense, I mean its on the front page on Celticsblog.com for a reason.
2) Pierce shouldn't complain about coming off the bench, because he knows that hes no longer the same player. The thought of playing for his home town team should warrant enough. Plus Melo/Pierce can both give each other plenty of minutes.
3) I just don't see that happening for various reasons.
4) Asik is definitely not going to be here if we get Melo. The point of Rockets clearing cap space is so they can go after Melo. We would somehow have to get Asik first then trade for Love, and then Melo. I just don't see DM giving us Asik if they feel that's exactly what Ainge is doing, and with how much mainstream media is in and out, who knows how much of a sly move Ainge can do?
1) There are many people that come straight to the forums instead of reading the articles on the front page. Also, I am not the first person to post a CelticsBlog article (a front page article) in the forums.
2) I am not talking about Pierce complaining. I would feel pretty bad comparing 2008 Finals MVP to the one that comes off the bench behind Carmelo (after hitting numerous clutch shots in his face).
3) It's an idea, just like a ton of those get posted every day on this forum.
4) And how do you know that Asik will not try to force his way out, pressuring Houston to trade him?
I mean no offense, so please don't feel offended, I just wanted to know what you thought.
As for Pierce, I don't think he should mind being off the bench. There will be plenty of minutes for him to shine, and come through in the clutch.
I really don't like the idea of capitalizing our entire future for Melo/Love. The best bet is that Melo demands a sign and trade to BOS, but I don't see that happening to be honest. Phil Jackson wouldn't want to give their nemesis or rival team a contending piece.
And as for Asik, he's been demanding that this entire time, ever since Howard arrival in HOU. Doesn't mean anything though, DM has all the power whether or not to trade him. Asik can complain all he wants, but he isn't going to get traded unless Morey believes that's the best solution.
