If the Bulls' offer drives the price too high in terms of draft picks, walk away, Danny Ainge. Wall away.

One thing that I think needs to be factored into all this contract talk with Love is that with the new CBA, Minnesota can not offer Love that 5 year extension anymore. They gave it to Pekovic last year and soi can only offer Love a four year deal. So of course Love won't resign there because if he is traded this summer and tells the team he will reisgn with them, they might be able to give Love that extra fifth year.

I think this is true. Perhaps those with a more detailed knowledge of the CBA could state whether this is right.

Sorry if this has been brought up already in this thread.
I don't think it's fair to spite the celtics for the KG trade. We gave them a great chance to rebuild and they messed it up. For KG (in his prime but also a few years from being out of it) they got Al Jefferson (3d team all-nba this year) who was entering his prime. The other main piece was giving them back their lottery pick in 2009. That gave them two top 6 picks. They proceeded to draft Rubio and Flynn back to back on picks 5 and 6. That's right two pgs in a row, while passing up on guys like curry and derozen for Flynn. Would they be saying the same thing if their team was Al Jefferson, curry, and maybe love?

Imo flip needs to assess the current lineup and who he wants  to start etc mving fwd

If he wants to keep pek , martin, rubio the bulls, gsw, rockets package will be better

If he wants to go fwd with muhammad, dieng etc getting sullinger, smart or gordon plus future 1sts will be a very good plan for the future. Especially dieng (length) plus sullinger (iq, perimeter, scoring skills) could be a nice front court duo. If Flip really likes mclemore and feels he will be happy with one of smart, randle, gordon, vonleh drop to 8th he will make the trade with sac

I don't think that's the case. The designated player only applies to rookie extensions.

This is incorrect.  The 5-year extension only applies to the extension of a rookie contract.  The Wolves passed up the opportunity to give that to Love back in January 2012, right after the lockout, because they wanted to save it for Rubio, who'd been in the NBA for about a week.  This is what started the fraying of the Love-Wolves relationship.  Love ended up signing a four-year extension, but one that had an option after year 3, because he wanted out.  It's doubtful he would have signed the extension at all but for wanting to avoid restricted free agency.

Pekovic's contract was signed as a free agent.  It is not an extension, by the rules, and so has no impact on the Wolves' ability to offer some other player a 5-year rookie extension (presumably Rubio, because otherwise what was the point.)  Veteran extensions with your same team (as opposed to an extend-and-trade) are all limited to four years, which includes any years left on the current contract.  The 5-year rule does not apply, so the Wolves already missed their chance with Love back in January 2012.

nope , it's just teams trying to strengthen their hand through the Media, much like the clips/c's trade for Doc Rivers last year.
Still 3 weeks til the draft, teams are going to put out stuff through the media.

Anyone seen Love in Chicago, yet? No? Did Saunders make any comments specifically about Bulls fans? Did Love take a clearly professionally made picture with Rose or Noah?

Yeah, that's what I thought.
In the summer of 2017, I predicted this team would not win a championship for the next 10 years.

3 down, 7 to go.

Yes if their offer includes gibson, butler, rights to mirotic and one or two 2014 1sts.

Mirotic is coming over next season. He wants to play in the nba

Wolves can even trade pek and rubio for another very good player or pg.

Lineup potential

Dieng
Gibson
Mitoric
Butler
Bledsoe via trade or trade 13 and bulls pick for marcus smart

But the Cetics have two young solid players, two better 1st round draft picks and many more to offer.

Why would Phoenix let Bledsoe go? They do have his RFA rights...

#13 and #16 aren't going to be enough to trade up to where Marcus Smart is going to be drafted.

Makes sense they have a better starting offer for Love.

They are dealing from a smaller deck. We have a much larger deck so when the hands ends odds are our offer will be better.

Mirotic wants to be a starter more than anything. Minny will grant him that wish
