Just read this article and compares the Celtics offer vs the Bulls offer. Now I know as a homer we'd all like Love to wear a C's uniform, but it looks like the Bulls may swoop in with a better offer. What gets me is it references Jackie M's article ([dang] you Jackie M for telling the truth).

Does this really signal that Minnesota - better yet Flip - choose Chicago? Just to spite Boston and the previous KG deal? Anyone else afraid that Love to Boston may not happen?

The bulls have the best package to offer. They got 16,19 butler and gibson. Plus mirotics rights

The wolves then can trade the 13 and 19 for the 7th pick for example. The lakers roster is empty and I bet they take that deal in a heartbeat(esp if they r not really big on rand, smart, gordm, vonleh, saric). Actually they can get saric at 13 and another nice first later

It depends if the twolves are more interested in competing for that eight seed or tanking. They need to tank but since they havnt been to the playoffs in so long i can see them liking the chicago offer

Yeah, this is a story created by the Wolves.  Can Chicago make a better offer?  Sure.  Have they?  I don't think so.  Will they?  Probably not. Their hole is at the 3, not the 4.  Makes infinitely more sense for them to push their extra assets towards acquiring Melo.

Doesn't mean Love ends up there.

Read below from Nick Freddell with ESPN Chicago

The Bulls aren't going to do any deal for Love unless they know he would sign a long-term extension with them. They wouldn't give up a combination of Butler, draft picks and/or Gibson, Boozer Nikola Mirotic unless they knew Love was in the fold for the long haul.

I've read or seen any indication that Love would be willing to sign an extension with Chicago

BUT....I can name on city Love has reported to be interested in signing an extension with...

If load up on the picks that is not a better offer.  Question is he worth it...

If they want to compete for the 8th seed I'm sure Sully, Bass, and Green could help just as much as Gibson, Butler, and Mirotic.  Then throw in other ideas a sign and trade of Bradley with Martin coming back, and the 6th pick we should be the no brainer trade.

Well of course the Celtics might not get Love.

- Minnesota might decide to keep him and let the contract run out hoping their great season next year and the extra money they can offer would be enough to keep Love.

- In any scenario, trade to another team or stay in Minnesota, Love could hit free agency and decide to sign elsewhere

- Minnesota could get their best offer from any one of a number of teams and trade Love elsewhere

- Minnesota ownership could tell Saunders not to trade him to Boston regardless of the offer and trade Love elsewhere

- Love could not be traded and get seriously hurt early next season prompting Boston to pull their interest on Love

- A better player might become available and Boston might change the direction of their interest

Dear say, I think its a lot more likely on a probability case that Love not end up in Boston than that he does. I think most people just need to come to this conclusion, that the most likely scenario is Love doesn't come to Boston. Then again, there was a lot of negativity about KG's chances of landing in Boston before he did so unfortunately when trades play out in the public, there's going to be lots of ups and downs for fans. Just got to grin and bear it and have the patience to wait until something happens.

That deal has significantly less value if Mirotic won't leave Europe to play for the Wolves. I saw an earlier report that they didn't want to give up Gibson in a Love deal. Also, not sure why they would give up Butler. I expect their preferred offer would be Boozer and the two picks (and maybe a future one). That is certainly not better than the Cs offer.

so we should really plan on NOT getting Love. I don't know much about this Mirotic guy, but if he's all the hype then the hey why not. I'm sure that Rubio might vouch for him, and persuade him to come to Minnesota.

Which in turn means that the C's may end up  trading Rondo.....(I'm not looking forward to this)

The Lakers probably aren't going to trade out of the lottery for a couple of picks in the teens. The Bulls offer can be realistically summed up as the possibility of Mirotic, some players who aren't young and aren't stars and some draft picks, none of which are in the top 10. Not saying Minny won't take that offer, but all they'll end up with is a team with no stars and probably no high draft picks. I don't see any value at all in doing that unless they're willing to choke on a bad offer to avoid trading with the Celts. It's hard to see this as anything other than Minny trying to drive up Love's price.

  Classic Bulls stance.

I think the Bulls offer completely hinges on how Minny feels about Mirotic. Is Chicago willing to deal him, does Minny value him as highly as the #6 pick, and can Minny convince Mirotic to come over to the NBA.

Sure, I agree that a deal which nets Minny Mirotic, Butler, 2 1sts and salary filler is possibly better than the C's would be willing to offer.  Just not sure Chicago would actually make such an offer.

I still think the C's could trump such an offer, with the Brooklyn picks, but I highly doubt Ainge will part with those. Maybe he gives up #6, #17 and one Brooklyn pick, but that seems like an overpay. Ainge doesn't make those type of deals generally.

I still think this is just Flip trying to milk Ainge for as much as he can get. I doubt Ainge bites though.

Lol and this at the end of the article.

Quote
Without question, the Celtics have more than enough to pry Love ? at least unless the Bulls have made an incredible offer that exceeds expectations.

So, MacMullan?s report tells me either Chicago is offering too much for Love or Boston has, at least so far, refused to offer enough. But if the Celtics want Love, they probably have the assets to make a strong offer.

They just haven?t yet.

How can the wolves play their cards correctly in this situation?

This Is a question for the contract experts. So the wolves can tell love he cant get the max on his next contract unless he first signs with them

When is the earliest love can do a sign to a max then the wolves can trade him?
