The problem is they'd be be giving up more future young assets (namely draft picks) for the chance to contend for a low playoff team with a team with no stars.

I feel that if the Lakers had our assets and tried to trade for Love, the trade would end up being Wallace and Bogans and a future lottery protected first round pick. And it would already be done.

just because Boston could offer all of that, doesn't meant that it has.
2025 Historical Draft - Cleveland Cavaliers - 1st pick

Starters - Luka, JB, Lebron, Wemby, Shaq
Rotation - D. Daniels, Mitchell, G. Wallace, Melo, Noah
Deep Bench - Korver, Turner

This early before Draft I feel its all posturing by both sides. Of course if you are Minnesota you want to see the best you can get from whatever team. so you are going to say you dont liike the celtics assets, or have better offers on the table..

what are you expecting them to say? we think you have the best offer so dont give us too much. I dont see what the Bulls could offer better than us. they dont have better picks, and players like Gibson is a roleplayer who wont make their team better.

Every team thinks they can win a guy over.  CLE has no chance of a resign, even LeBron who was born near there bolted.  They already married off Heather Kozar to Tim Couch.

Sounds like there is a better chance to get love at the trade deadline (if the team he is traded to is not playoff bound) or grab him via FA un 2015 at this point

We had a top 3 pick I would even admit the deal was likely in the bag.  But we dont and its not

The big news in this article is that Boston is one of the teams where love would accept an extension. that gives him alot of power over where he can go. its too early for real serious trade talks or serious considerations from both sides. that will happen the closer it gets to the draft IMO as it becomes more apparent they need to move Love

This whole idea that Love has no power over where he goes is absolutely rediculous considering every superstar move via trade the past few years generally has been to a team of their choice. All love has to tell a team is "I have no desire to sign with you" and they will back away.

Look at Ainges offer to grab Chris paul a couple years ago. CP3 in rumors stated he had no desire to go to boston because of their older roster and dint want to stay there. which was a large reason he was traded to the LA teams.

make no mistake though, Ainge will go hard for love just like he did for CP3.  The difference is, Love actually is open to coming to the celtics/signing an extension here.

this is complete posturing. if we give up more than 3 picks that's foolish. and if we include the Brooklyn picks that's even more foolish.

the T-wolves are the ones in the unfortunate situation that they have to get something for Love. not us!

if they're getting a better offer? then so be it.

The Bulls do have a fairly decent offer in Gibson, Butler, and a first. If I was Love I would be estatic about playing alongside Noah. He would be the ideal compliment to Love's game...But maybe he likes Boston more? No idea why in this case but hey, Ill take it.

It's just posturing by Minny. Love will be traded this summer. If they wait until the trade deadline they will lose too much on the return for Love. Now that he says he would stay long term in Boston, I don't see much in the way of him coming here. We have the assets to up our offer, and I'm sure we will.

Love can like any team he wants and im sure he has a team he'd prefer. but it's not his choice.

and if the T-wolves do leave it up to him then they're idiots.

I can see then the wolves packaging the 13 and bulls 1st and trading it to the jazz or lakers for a top 8 pick

They get a top 8 pick in the end also

I wouldn't be surprised if Minny threw this line in there to make us feel we need to throw more at them.
