The conversation would have adopted a completely different tone had the Celtics landed the first, second or third pick in the draft. The Timberwolves, like everyone else, covet the opportunity to have a crack at one of the troika of Joel Embiid, Andrew Wiggins and Jabari Parker.

The No. 6 pick isn't quite so sexy.

Taylor still hasn't recovered from the last seismic Minnesota-Boston transaction, which led to a Celtics championship. In fact, sources in Minnesota say, the thought of conducting another major transaction with Boston gives Taylor great pause.

Quote
When Doc Rivers hired Saunders as a "postseason consultant" for the Celtics during the 2012 playoffs, the interaction between Flip and Ainge was minimal and noticeably cool.

That doesn't preclude the two from making a trade, but negotiations won't be nearly as fluid or cooperative as they were when McHale and Ainge were striking a deal.

Well, if we had a chance at Wiggins, Embiid, or Parker, I'm sure we wouldn't have played around with the idea of trading for Love.

I think this is kind of obvious.

After Love took a suspicious trip to Boston people thought we were guaranteed to get him and then the conversation moved on to how we could get Melo too and Omer Asik was "all but a given".

People need to slow their role a bit and not be surprised when Boston is picking for itself at #6. I know we're all punch-drunk from an awful season but let's not begin to act like some entitled Laker fans.
*CB Miami Heat*
Kyle Lowry, Dwayne Wade, 13th pick in even numbered rounds, 18th pick in odd numbered rounds.

Look, I respect and appreciate Jackie more than anybody on this forum...And, Love might not end up a Celtic....

However, hurt feelings from Taylor and DA not being good friends with Flip doesn't matter in the end...It all comes down to who has the best offer on the table, if/when Minny decides to deal Love.

Relationships and history sometimes help start the conversation, but it doesn't make or break a deal...It's much like the people who say the KG deal happened b/c McHale & DA are best friends. No, that deal happened b/c Minny lusted after Big Al and after the Allen acquisition KG was interested in coming to Boston.

As far as the top-3 pick, that's not breaking news...That was written by Wojo weeks ago.  However, it doesn't matter that Minny wants a top-3 pick more than the #6 pick, unless Cleveland, Milwaukee or Philly is willing to offer their pick to Minny.  If that does happen, I don't think any of us would be shocked by Minnesota accepting that offer and a chance to grab Parker, Wiggins or Embiid.

We gave a ton up for Garnett. He only played his prime for 1 and 1/2 season with us. Do not forget at that point Al Jefferson and Gerald Green there were many camps who thought they would be all stars, and many thought gerald Green was the next tmac

Of course nothing is done till It's done. But no doubt he was checking the city out for this purpose.

When I'm interested in a business or a piece of property I go there walk around, meet people, ask questions, get a feel for the area...

I could see MIL offering #2 and Henson, for starters.

Giannis
Love
Sanders

would be a great frontcourt and mesh very well.

And Henson at PF would compliment Pekovic's below average defense.

I don't think the Bucks will trade for Love. They are far from contenders.

it's not up to Love where he is traded to. He will absolutely not opt in nor guarantee to sign an extension with anyone until he is a FA in 2015.

Danny might not care and feels confident they can try to keep him but he is not going to overpay. I doubt he will include both the 6th and 17th pick for him. Prob will offer the 6th and a bunch of contract fillers for a possible 1 year rental.  When has anyone see Danny overpay before? He is the one getting overpaid

If Sac gives the wolves the 8th, mclemore and future first with no strings attached, they will be ahead of everyone else imo

The Celtics can offer a better pick and better prospects than the Kings.

People need to slow their role? The fans are the ones that put the money in the team's pocket, thus the fans have every right to expect nothing but the best team possible.
