Just to throw some ice on this.   This garbage article is based on some random comments in a RealGm forum thread.  One of the posters (named FrankLucas) appears to be just making stuff up and pretending to have sources.  Here were his actual comments.  Just judge for yourself:

NOTE:  By this point, there had already been a dozen tweets and a couple articles about Kevin Love planning to have dinner at Del Frisco's steakhouse.  Here are the comments by FrankLucas AFTER that news broke:

Quote
I hope Danny plans on bring in Melo. Looks like Kevin Love is going to be a Celtic. I even got word that he is having dinner tonight with members of the Celtics at a very nice Steakhouse in Boston. I know the name of the place but won't share that with you. But this dude isn't out in the public eye for no reason.

When asked if the steakhouse was Flemings:

Quote
Nope it not Flemings. By the way the Celtics players love Ruth Chris Steakhouse but that not where Kevin Love is going to be at tonight.

Anyways it just seem like he will be a Boston Celtic at some point this offseason

When asked if he was playing games or actually an insider:

Quote
I'm not in insider but I have good contacts in Boston. I have been told that Love is having dinner tonight with members of the Cs. I was even told the place. Boston is a small city so if you have any pull around the city you can get the info if you know the right people.

When someone remarks, "I read he was going to Del Friscos", FrankLucas responds:

Quote
Correct

Later he says:

Quote
The Love deal is pretty much done. I think the fact that Kevin Love is so out and about in Boston is something that Danny wants out there so he can show someone like Melo that he means business. The Melo thing is the one that is on the hush

Later:

Quote
Melo is the primary target. They need a scorer from the wing position. Cs need to get Love first in order to work one Melo. That why Kevin Love is in town he knows he is headed to Boston. Love is a done deal, the focus now is Melo. He was the primary target. Love opting in on his final year allows the Cs to sign Melo to a long term deal first. Than work on a team friendly deal with Rondo and then take care of Kevin. Also could Tyson Chandler be dealt to Boston?

Later:

Quote
Nobody has link Melo to Boston and that is what excites me. It the deal nobody sees coming. I feel if you get Melo, Love and we have Rondo. This teams needs a rim protector like a Tyson Chandler who does not fit Phil Jackson triangle offense.

This is going to be an interesting next couple of weeks leading into the draft.  Love trade will not happen prior to the draft.

Later someone calls him out:  "Not to downplay your source or anything, but him going to Del Frisco's tonight was in the original report that started all of this..."

... Seems to me he's just making stuff up.  I've seen RealGM posters pretend to have inside sources before and this seems to be a dude pretending to have inside info about Love eating a steakhouse even though it had already been widely reported through twitter.  Also, at some point in that thread, someone posts about THIS thread (how meta)... and FrankLucas responds:

Quote
Wow this is funny those quotes are from me and what I said over the week on this thread. Mods go back and check the stats...lol...It is good someone is listening to me.

...

That said, there IS apparently a guy on that forum that seems to be well-respected, I guess... a dude named LarryBirdsFingr...   A couple people in that thread seemed to vouch for him (who knows if he actually has sources, though).  Here were his comments in that thread:

Quote
Hearing from 3/3 sources Kevin love is here for basketball reasons. In the past 14 days the Boston Celtics are now emerging as the #1 candidate for landing Kevin love. Love and his agents are actively involved in trade talks, which prompted this trip after determining that Boston was the #1 option as of this past 14 days.

All for now

Later:

Quote
Hearing rondo and love talked 11 days ago regarding this trip, on the phone, and that rondo and him have maintained regular correspondence for the past 27 days.

Quote
This next month of anticipation is going to be horrendous to live through the suspense

... He too is aware of this Celticsblog thread...  When someone pointed out FrankLucas comments were in this thread, LarryBirdsFingr responded:

Quote
And mine are there too....what a coincidence.  I know its you and I they quoted, what losers.

RealGM posters seem to have a lot of hostility towards CelticsBlog.  Whatever.

So now everyone here is caught-up with the drama happening on RealGm.  They are watching us watching them.  Let's just cross-website merge the two threads and have a fake source party.

Garbage rumor. Nothing is done. After Aaron Gordon worksout for the celts the 6th pick will be off the table.

That's a lot of investigation for something like that.

Did 3 separate sources confirm that? Because that's the standard for believable rumors now.

Right?

I spend very little of my time thinking about RealGM.

Yeah I mean... whatever.  I'd rather not see a 6-page thread turn into 50 pages due to some hack article based on a RealGM forum conversation.    Let's not pretend like this "Love deal pretty much done" has any legs.   This would be like you coming up with a trade idea, some hack blog writing an article about it... and then a bunch of people on RealGM quoting your trade idea as a "source".

and just to put a cap on it, Here's the last comments by FrankLUcas in that thread:

Quote
I don't like to get into the insider stuff because these things change hourly. So I'm not going to be one who come on here and say my sources said this and that. What I will do is lay out the ground work of what could happen, just based off the little information I had access too.

Now just reading the tea-leaves here, there is no question that Melo and Rondo have talk about being team-mates. Even during the season Melo said it would be fun to have someone like Rondo to come join me here in New York. Rondo said the same thing about Melo coming to Boston.

If you look at it, if Boston get Kevin Love (which to me it looks like a done deal) then Boston becomes a really good option for Melo. I think Boston becomes a better place for Melo then Chicago and New York.

I love Thibs but he burns his guys out, many people think Thibs is the cause for Derrick Rose injuries because he rely so much on Rose and they never gotten him any help. Now what if Rose never comes back to being Rose and Melo went to Chicago. You don't think Melo will get burn out by Thibs? So I count Chicago out on that factor alone. Not to mention Rose and Melo being the next verison for Westbrook and Durant. It just not a prefect match.

However with Rondo and Kevin Love in the fold, Boston is a better option. Now it just a matter of creating cap space. Also if not Melo don't count out Kevin Durant in a couple of years but my guess is DA would try to make a push for a Love/Melo type package this off-season.

At worst the Cs don't get Love/Melo this off-season. They can wait it out and get Love during the summer of 2015 without given up assets and the assets we have now like Sully, Kelly O and the two draft picks we have now. Will all become better assets next off-season.

You see these are the type of talks that are going on in the GM office on a daily bases.

So he's just another fan coming up with fun ideas.  I can't fault him for that.  Blame that hacky rappler article that quoted him and LarryBirdsFinger as one singular "source".

Change the thread title to "Random Celtics fan reads twitter... Guesses we will land Love"

Now it just a matter of creating cap space.

Yep. Just a small matter of creating about $20 million in cap space.

This guy has no real clue.

GS and Utah showed us how to do that. Philly seems like a logical team willing to take on salary for picks.

Can't see Melo coming to Boston no matter what the cap space and other scenarios are .. . .

Wrong side of 30, huge cost ... just can't envision it happening at all.

We have been discussing the idea here for months. It's pretty unlikely, but not unthinkable.

Utah got two 1sts for accepting two contracts, each with one year remaining.

By that notion, two contracts each with two years remaining should cost at least four first rounders.

I can see it. He's made it know  he'd like to play with rondo. DA has made it known he wants a go to scorer along with rim protection and melo is a go to scorer. Melos game should age well. As should loves.

Ainge isn't not going to sign melo bc he's 30. Assuming melo would want to come to Boston. If we get love then I can see melo being interested . Especially since Jackson doesn't want to pay him a max deal.

Depends on the contracts were sending out. I assume you're talking about Wallace and green? Those guys, biendrins and Jefferson, provided no value. Green could be flipped for an asset if Philly chooses to do so. I don't think Philly would hesitate to take on salaries for two unprotected picks.

It's not that unlikely especially if we can get Love.  The chips just has to fall
