It is probably dreaming to keep them separate in headline deals such as Jefferson and the 5th pick were back in 07.
Maybe they will be in one trade but we can expand it as a 3 team trade. Danny's last 2 trades have been 3 team deals, and it may be easier to help get what each team wants.
Minnesota is on record saying they want to be competitive next year trying to make the playoffs in which case they probably prefer veteran players. A 3rd team involved to help facilitate a deal that's more willing to hit the reset button might get this done.
For example say if Denver really wants to start over if they feel they are stuck in mediocracy.
You could have a trade like this.
to Minnesota
Faried who put up monster numbers the 2nd half of the season and Denver might not be willing to pay for him.
Lawson is a borderline all star.
Jeff Green would start at the 3 for them.
Bass backing up Faried.
maybe one of our picks
to Boston
Love
Gallinari-risky move as he didn't play at all last year but buying low on him
McGee-maybe even more of a riskier move considering his salary
to Denver
Minnesota's 13th pick
Rubio
our 6th pick
Sullinger
1 of our other first round picks
haven't tried this on the trade machine but maybe you need to thrown in Bogans, Anthony, and Wallace to make the numbers work.
Minnesota while downgrading at PF it's not by a ton and the athletic Faried might fit better next to Pekovic. You also upgrade your starting SF and PG positions.
Denver gets a ton of assets to work with going forward while working on being bad for the next year or 2.
Boston gets Love and the risky Gallinari and McGee. Maybe we don't have to give up quite as much in assets as the last 2 are risky (more with McGee being a head case) but the moves could pay off.
Not saying I would do this exact trade but just throwing out there the possibly of a 3 team deal like this, and there are probably other teams that would fit just as well in a 3 team deal.
