This purely hypothetical as we very well might have to trade both in a proposed Love trade or for any other star for that matter.  However what if it came down to one or the other to headline a big trade for Love what would you choose?

I'm torn.

On one hand I think Sullinger could be just as good if not better than anyone we would draft at 6.  The once projected top 5 pick before the back woes has shown flashes of that potential, and maybe after an offseason of not worrying about rehabbing he could have a big jump to his game as turns 22.  It would be nice to see Sullinger learn under Love for a year or 2, and if he really develops into a star you could always trade him down the line for other needs.

On the other hand his playing style is very similar to Love, and the smart play maybe is to trade him, re-sign Humph as a back up, draft Smart having a very strong 3 guard rotation with Bradley and Rondo,  draft Gordon hoping he can eventually be a starting SF, or draft Vonleh hoping he can play some C and PF being a defensive presence.

I'm leaning towards trading Sully but haven't decided yet.

Seems to me like you need to include both.

I think you will have to do both as well.  I think Love is a different guy from Sully and their games are very different.   Sully is stronger in the post and Love can shoot threes, Sully can't well.

I don't know, Love shot several percentage points higher immediately around the basket on a higher volume this past season.

I'll keep the pic to draft Aaron Gordon.

Easily Sully.

Sully is basically a poor man's Kevin Love. Replace him with the actual guy who can rebound, score, and shoot from the perimeter.

Then we get a #6 pick and draft Gordon, Randle, or somebody who can play outside PF. Preferably a SF. Boom. Two birds with one stone.

Then we can ship Green, Bass, and some stuff to Houston for Asik.

I know we are going to need more than just Sully for Love anyways.

I reckon it will take both Sully + #6 as well.

If Ainge got to keep one, I'd keep the pick. I prefer Sully over the #6 pick but K-Love would be coming in to take Sully's spot (at power forward) so Sully's value here would be much lower once K-Love joins. So I keep the #6 pick.

It's going to take significantly more than just Sully and #6. It makes me wonder about the guys who are huge fans of trading for Love. They have no idea what it's going to cost us, and how much our future flexibility will be limited.

And you have no idea whether we'll ever be able to add another player of the caliber of Love.

Well you don't do a move like that and you don't keep Rondo IMO.  When you have a chance to get a top 10 talent who's young you do it.  Boston has never been a FA destination so we have to pick up guys via trade.    I think it will take more then Sully and a#6 pick definitely more, but Ainge gathered picks and tradeable assets in order to do something like this.. .

I would be shocked if it isn't both. However, if your question is which has more value, I think it's the 6th pick.
DKC:  Rockets
CB Draft: Memphis Grizz
Players: Klay Thompson, Jabari Parker, Aaron Gordon
Next 3 picks: 4.14, 4.15, 4.19

I'd wonder how many of those were putbacks on offensive rebounds.

#6 pick has way more trade value than Sullinger.  You aren't getting Love without the #6 pick, though.  Sullinger would be an add-on.

He shoots a quite a few percentage points above Sully from three point land too.  Not similar at all.
