I think there's some great value at #17 this year; guys with potential to become solid long-term starters (Warren, Anderson, Hairston, McDaniels, etc.) and even a few high risk/reward guys that could become legitimate stars (Lavine, Porzingis, etc.).
I'd consider the trade only if it were for Exum or Embiid and only if Stevens and Ainge truly believe in them. Personally, I'm very high on Smart and Saric and pretty high on Gordon. I'm also high on Vonleh but I think his highest ceiling is at PF.
I'm generally of the opinion that the draft is a dice roll and that the only real way to increase your chances of drafting a star is by giving yourself some more rolls of the dice (drafting more guys). That being said, the Celtics have an ungodly amount of picks (probably more than they could possibly use straight up for team building purposes) and many should be traded.
In that sense, I really wouldn't mind seeing them use future picks to move up and grab their prime targets and/or move back into the draft. I would really like to see them move into the late first or early second for Isaiah Austin. I'd like them to begin the development of young stars now so they come into their own while Rondo is still playing at a high-level.
