Just read this.  If this offer is what the Cavs are thinking of doing,  may be tough to beat.

Waiters, #1 pick and Bennett ( Bennett just a throw in )

Well looks like the Cavs will most likely get Love. The question is will he stay in Cleveland?

I think he'd pull a Dwight and bail. Wow, imagine if they did trade the #1 pick and he walked after the season? Leave it to the Cavs to bomb the #1 pick.

But methinks his people squash any trade before it goes down. If he really does want to be part of a winning franchise, I don't see Cleveland on his list. Fans aren't the only ones questioning their competence.
2021 Houston Rockets
PG: Kyrie Irving/Patty Mills/Jalen Brunson
SG: OG Anunoby/Norman Powell/Matisse Thybulle
SF: Gordon Hayward/Demar Derozan
PF: Giannis Antetokounmpo/Robert Covington
C: Kristaps Porzingis/Bobby Portis/James Wiseman

If they're desperate enough to do it regardless of whether or not he opts in, he doesn't have much choice other than to play his ass off next season, even if he's not staying with Cleveland.

And Kyrie Irving is good enough, and young enough, to make Cleveland hit that PDX level very quickly next season, but in the East.

Especially if they can somehow convince Deng to stay, too. Irving + Deng + Love would have to hit some really awful luck in order to miss the playoffs.

Methinks Love would walk and the Cavs would have a few more #1s in the near future.

I doubt Cleveland would consider this unless they knew LeBron was coming. And given how he and the Gilbert get along, I seriously doubt that will ever happen.

If this happens, I think Love will resign, barring any huge chemistry issues between him and Irving. Kyrie and Love will definitely make the playoffs in the East.

Why don't you want Kevin Love?  He'd easily be the best player on the Celtics.
