People also wanted Stevens fired for winning 2 games near the end of the season. Also wanted Presseys head on a platter for trying hard to win.

Some fans need to chill a bit

Well Stevens should be too. Cost the Celtics a shot at Exum

Lol.  No. Ainge is fantastic. Calm yourself ... We have known it was going to be #6 for a while.   It's a solid asset.  Thrilled we didn't fall to 8

Would trading Bass and Bayless have resulted in us losing 7 more games (to pass Philly) or 11 more games (to pass Milwaukee)?

Maybe we should have won 8 more games to catch Cleveland.

Nope it certainly would have leapfrogged Utah and yeah maybe they could have caught Philly too. The end of the season was brutal but in a good way. Should have started D-Leaguers rest of the way. Instead the Celtics are either going to get Love or Aaron freakin Gordon

There is no way the celtics could have caught Philly. That team free fell at a historic level. So if the celtics bombed out at the end of the season and caught Utah, they would have earned the 5th spot and still drafted Gordon or the like.

Remember, a guy like Wiggins might not be any better than Paul George or Demar DeRozan. We didn't miss out on the next Lebron or Durant here.

Haha. Wow, this is not a thread i would expect today.

In Danny Ainge i trust, one of the very best GMs in the NBA.

If you read this forum, a fire Ainge thread after this lottery is as predictable as a trade Rondo trade.  I'm wondering what took so long.

So .....to satisfy Stevens ego ...DA. Let him win those last games and we should have never beat the Heat either.

So now after suffering though a stinking season ......we get a nothing 6 th pick

That won't be enough to get Love

Or possible Elite talent

So now the Only Elite player we have  Rondo...

Has Zero reason to stay with Celtics

Rondo knew DA was screwing up winning those games .....we all knew it .....Rondo knew it ....the world  knew it but he let Stevens win anyway?  Unbelievable

So with poor tanking ...... We lost the Lotto top three ....probably Love and most like ya Will have to trade Rondo ...as we will get Zilch to go with him to compete

All of you ll who had to feel good ......and win a few games

6 pick is a role player at best ,  a nice bench guy ....this will make this team have about 30 wins ....and well suck and be stuck in limbo for another freakin 23 years because people were scard to tank.
Well...now we are in for the super long haul......welcome to nowhere and only repeated tanks can break the ice......we don't have the Lakers luxury of failing at Lottery

Tanking for years .....I predict three more tanking years ....Stevens will have to go.....he won't survive ....we need to tank for talent......he won't

Danny definitely made mistakes here. If he really wanted to make a play for KLove, he shoulda gone harder after a coveted top 4 pick. #6 is a very disappointing result after suffering through this awful season. If we were gonna be this bad why not just go for the value picks? All they had to do was release Bayless and Humph who are UFAs anyway. That certainly would have gotten us a better draft position and lost little...

Anyway, he can redeem himself by getting Love. Just don't think #6 gets it done. At this point, I'm hoping he drafts McDermott and he turns into a premier scorer. Then uses assets to get a rim protecting center.

The worry is that things don't come together fast enough and Rondo leaves. ... Ugh.

Can't imagine Danny  is gonna get a lot of sleep given how this end of season and lottery played out. I bet he wishes he could get a redo. I think he definitely would have  tanked harder. Especially now that KLove is actually on the table.

Ainge should have left when Doc did. Awful job with this rebuild. Zero reason why Rondo Bass Hump Bayless and the rest of those guys should have been on a rebuilding team. This squad needed to be blown up and Ainge didn't do it. Just an awful day to be a fan. Thank you Danny Ainge for wanting to compete and not be like the Sixers...I'm sure we will look back when Parker is lighting up the Celtics for 30 ppg and say that you made the right move!!!
knew you were the OP as soon as I saw the title.  might want to get your leg checked out after that knee-jerk reaction

Crazy to fire Ainge, but it WAS totally senseless to be winning at the end of the season.

Ironically, I think that getting the 6th pick makes it more likely that it's traded for immediate help for Rondo, and that he consequently will stay. Sad part is that now in order to get a Love or Melo, it's gonna cost us that much more than if we got 1-3.

Too bad. :(

Not bench guys but the top 3 was a sure thing. The 4th, Exum is a wild card then after that...hell who am I kidding it's Danny Ainge he will probably take Julius Randle because you can never have enough undersized 4's!!!

He is a great GM, but he tried win and tank and it cost us a top, top pick. It was a definite miscalculation on his part...

Yup....winning those last games .....was about as stupid as you can get ...... I be really mad if I was the owner .

So now Danny Begs and trades away tons of assets to try and get Anybody of elite talent to join the celtics...good luck with that ...
If he fails ............ >:(............then he should be fired .....be blew it

Rondo will leave ...we won't have to trade him.....he decide that for Boston.

Think all this could have been changed by losing a few stinking meaning less games .

Mega screwup for Danny Anige .... He should have put the hammer down on Stevens ....unbelievable

This close to a top three and Stevens playing like it was the playoffs.......moron is what he is.

I'm not even mad about OUR (the Celtics) draft pick.

I was really mad about Cleveland getting another 1st pick (AGAIN). But that was only for like an hour.

But seriously, I think you're just fuming hardddd. Gotta relax!
