In theory I agree with nixing the trade - it's a little crappy to stick a new owner with a situation where an owner parachutes in, blows up the team, and gets booted out.  But it would really suck for eja to have this trade negated.

On the one hand, given the price tag on Davis I'm not sure it can be argued that it cost him the opportunity to do a different deal.  But on the other hand, he made the trade in good faith, in a way that met our standard as a league, and gave up at least one draft pick that has already been used, so he has no chance to grab the guy he might've wanted instead of Ennis (or trade that pick for something else).  It's basically impossible to truly press the reset button, is my point here.

I'll leave things to the discretion of the commish - if it goes up to a vote (EDIT: Looks safe to say probably not) I'm not sure which way I'd go, but I'll give it a lot of thought and pick a direction.  Meantime I think it'd be very prudent to hold off on any trades by any team until this is finally settled.

Without getting into the specifics FWF, I've presented waht I think is a very reasonable (and hopefully simple) solution that deals with the issues you've addressed including some details that you'd have no reasonable knowledge of.

I've (sadly) probably given this all much more thought than is warranted. :P

TP for your thoughfulness.

Also, I don't know why I feel I need to say this here, but I'd made NO offer to Jay regarding ANY of his players. So my views aren't one of a GM that lost out on trade talks. Jay can vouch for that.

Again, just felt the need to make this clear.

Btw, maybe we should all give GC a TP as a token of our appreciation. The first round of the draft was flawless. He has also been extremely patient and even minded.

P.S. - GC, you can continue to take a swipe at my posts, but don't expect me to take it easy on you either  :P

Yes we are. I'm going out of town to give a talk this weekend so this isn't gonna be solved tonight.

At the point Eja and I reach some (relative) consensus we will bring something to the full league.

Until then everyone swipe at BFM.  :P 8)

Funny you should say that....I'm in Bandhavgarh National park in India (you can't venture too far from your tents once sun goes down...after that, candles are all you have....plus a forest guard with an out-dated tranquilizer.....by out-dated, I mean it looks reallyyyyy old). This park has the highest concentration of Tigers in any park in India. Saw a Leopard (yeah, not a Tiger) this evening feasting on a wild Hog, I hope I am lucky enough to see the majestic beast in its natural surrounding while I am here. Will post pics in a relevant thread on the blog.

We better get ready with another possible replacement GM

Superb response by the commish regarding a tough situation. I'm certain the trade issues will be resolved just as fairly. This part below from GC post explains the gist of the issues in general and should be in the league constitution. It is essential for us to remember this for the long term health of the league:

"This is a long-term league made up of 20 dedicated GMs. Most of us have invested 4, 5 6, up to 8 years of our time playing and building our teams. No one is forcing anyone to be a part of this league. But if you are going to be in it there is a reasonable expectation that you will (a) follow the rules that we've collectively decided on and (b) communicate if you have a question, issue or problem with the league, rules, another GM, etc.

Every GM has a different level of involvement in this league. The rules we've put together aren't to make it more difficult (though I'm sure that sometimes it feels that way), but rather to allow 20 different meatheads with differing levels of commitment, from all over the country (maybe world?), of different ages, different temprements, differing access to a computer during the day, etc. to coexist and have a kick-butt league."

Toine's Boys have decided to go old with our 2015 draft pick. Awaiting word from our worn out commish after a long draft day regarding an official announcement.
Out of curiosity did this happen yet? GC mentioned finishing up a deal between you and Dino. Maybe I missed it.

Yeah, it should be officially done, and does not involve anything that went on with Jaygate.

I was going to say that I wanted to hold off for cleanliness sake -- but we all need some joy right about now huh?

(and the trade was completed during the draft, I just got consumed with the other stuff. Trades completed after will however be embargoed until we sort the other stuff out -- in case there's any tiny consequence...).

Trade Announcement

Toine's Boys trades their 2015 1st round pick

DinoGanga trades Paul Pierce

I'm behind on my bookeeping. I hope on Sunday or Mon. to update the trade log, etc.

Welcome to Toine's Boys Paul! We hope you have something left in the tank at least for one more season.

I have to admit, I pulled the trigger on this deal partially for sentimental value.
