Wow lot of stuff going on here before a basketball is even bounced...

Just a quick 2-cents:

Unless Jay is absolutely resolute on seeing this deal and his team thru long-term, why not just amend the deal for (as was said by WW) the "good of the league."  Something like swapping out the 1st round pick that Jay is sending out with a 2nd round pick instead.

I know that would be a tough pill to swallow for Eja, and I normally despise the idea of intervening in deals, but maybe if we allow Jay to keep that pick he'll be more intent on seeing his rebuild thru since it becomes a somewhat more viable path.

I'd  feel better about the deal if we go with this "for the good of the league"  suggestion of changing the first rounder Jay gives up.

I think we all would, but it doesn't seem like EJA is touching that one.
Listen guys i like the trade i am going to see my rebuild thru and to be honest with you a trade should not be nixed because the league does not like it a trade should only be nixed because of collusion and believe me there is no collusion.  I will rebuild my team the way i need to.  I traded away pices in the points league 4 years ago and now my team is in the middle of the pack.  Whatever you guys decide is fine but i want it to be known that i like the trade an i am ok with it.  I am active in the points league and i will be active in this league to those of you who question my attentivness to the league because i didn't make moves a 6 or 7 years ago when this league was started.  I don't tank and i don't cheat.

Jay, good to hear from you. You probably read through the posts from yesterday but I think the general consensus was that you vastly overpaid and that that worried folks about the future of your team and your involvement. Don't know that anyone suggested collusion or cheating.

That said there was a suggestion made that Eja deal back that #1 pick, but that's wholly up to him.
So if he deals back the first rounder next year then the trade goes thru if so then Eja you have a decision to make pm me and let me know what you want to do.

No.

The deal has officially gone through -- no one asked for a veto and the review period has expired.

The suggestion that y'all rework so that you can keep your #1 pick (and instead send back, say, your 2nd rounder) is just a "good of the league" suggestion.

Again -- and then we can move on, yeah? -- it was a suggestion. Eja and Jay are under no obligation. If people's fears about this trade come true in 2, 3, 4 years... there may be some I told you so's but that's it.

Trade is completed, Jay has the #21 pick (and 2 or 3 Durants IIRC)

Agreed.  Whether you think a deal is "good" or "bad" is one thing.  Whether a deal can be vetoed is another.

But playing big brother and structuring other peoples deals for them is absurd.

EDIT - Covered.
