Am I?

Honestly guys the BEST CASE scenario I see this playing out is we get Love and then somehow get Melo. I am pretty skeptical if a team built around Rondo, Melo and Love could be better than a ECF appearance. I doubt that even happens because I feel like Melo is going to bolt to Chicago to join the limping Derrick Rose and DPOY Noah.

I also don't think the Love trade is even close to the KG trade, he's an offensive player who plays zero D and really just seems like a 2nd tier star to me. I def don't want to give up a top 3 pick for this guy, top 5? potentially if Exum is gone, but not a top 3 pick...Love just doesn't really get me excited and neither does the thought of Rondo/Melo/Love get me THAT amped.

I'm in this boat as well.

It's a party boat.
At least a goldfish with a Lincoln Log on its back goin' across your floor to your sock drawer has a miraculous connotation to it.

I'd want Love, but I'm greedy, I also don't want to surrender a top 5 pick this year for him (yes, top 5 and not top 3), if we fall out of the top 3, I really want to see us draft Smart. Or even some of you want Exum

I am fine with trading anyone on the team not named Rondo for Love.

Rondo/Lotto pick/Love

then add in some defensive players, and it's a start

I'm in this boat too...to an extent.

If we can draft Parker, Embiid, Wiggins or Exum, then I'd be p---ed if we dealt that pick for Love.  Anybody else, and I'd be OK with it, because at that point, who else is out there?  Trading for Asik and drafting Aaron Gordon isn't going to make Rondo want to stay, and is going to put us in NBA purgatory, not good enough to win, not bad enough to have a high shot at a top pick.

Also if we can get Love without giving our first pick in this draft, I'm all for it.

Basically Love cannot be "THE" guy.  If he's on a team with say Rondo, Jabari Parker, and Asik, I think he may be good enough to go far with.  If it's him and Rondo and Jeff Green...I'd rather have passed on the deal.

Ugh. I see a whole Kevin Love trade fiasco brewing this summer ala Dwight Howard in 2012. I just don't see any scenario where acquiring Kevin Love makes the Celtics legitimate contenders given the assets we'd have to give up to aquire him. Much rather take our chances in the draft.

Celtics fans blow my mind sometimes.

I would really like hear the alternatives...YOUR idea...whom YOU would trade and build a team around.  Please, you have the floor, dazzle me.

My personal assessment is that a team with Rondo, Melo, and Love (along with our great coach) is absolutely and positively a contender.

I've said this in another thread. I'm a huge fan of Kevin Love, but I would really like to stick the rebuild and keep our picks + Sully. Don't see Love/Rondo duo winning a championship anytime soon. Would like to test our luck in the lottery and go forward with the young guys. I'm on the trade Rondo and rebuild through the draft boat. Don't see Love having the same impact as KG when he first came here. Nor do we have that third star like we did in Ray Allen. Or a superstar in place like we did with Pierce. People look at 2007 and think "hey we can do it again" but I don't see it happening anytime soon.
PHX Suns: Russell Westbrook, Chris Bosh, Tristan Thompson, Trevor Ariza, Tony Allen, Trey Lyles, Corey Brewer, Larry Nance Jr., Trey Burke, Troy Daniels, Joffrey Lauvergne, Justin Holiday, Mike Muscala, 14.6

I am in this boat.  I just don't think up grading a position they already have good players at it a good use of their assets.  Get a center, and some swingmen before we upgrade the good players on the team.

Why would Danny stop at Rondo/Love?  Why would Danny pull a huge move like acquiring Love with a huge risk of losing him after a year if another star isn't acquired?  Of course Rondo/Love won't make us a contender but it is a huge step into the right direction where if another superstar or two stars is acquired would vastly improve the team.

What some fans want is for us to delve into this long tedious developing project of making a star out of a pick or two when it's not even guaranteed it's going to pan out.  I'll pass.

What are the chances one of these players outside of the top 3 (or even in the top 3) will end up averaging close to 25/12 in a single year in their career ? Love is easily a top 10 offensive player in the league .  As good as a offensive player and rebounder Parker was his first season in college, chances are those are the numbers he tops out if he reaches his full potential, with less rebounds .

Wiggins will be a nice player , but like others have said I see a lot of Jeff Green in his passive style of play .

Embiid is probably the only guy I wouldn't trade for Love , because Embiid could turn out to be a stud on both sides of the ball .

Love is only 25 years old, Rondo is 28 . We would still have about 5 years to build a contender around them with loads of picks still to come that we can use to bolster the roster or trade them for other vets, even if we send a couple away in the Love trade .

I'd rather have 'Melo at the 4 than Love, especially with someone like Asik at the 5.

Honestly, though, I'd rather hold off on either of them until we see who we have the opportunity to draft.

I'd much rather have Love.

He's younger, scores more efficiently, scores more within an efficient offensive scheme, and he has a second dimension to his game (rebounding creating extra possessions)

It all depends on the pieces we have left. We get those two we need a defensive SG who can knock down the 3 and guard 3 positions (not bradley), and a defensive center. Sixth man off the bench who can score (a jamal crawford type). But once again thats the BEST case scenario we have with acquiring Love...get Melo and get those role players. Thats a lot of "ifs"

Not in the boat.

No one, 1-4, Embiid, Parker , Wiggins, Exum is guaranteed to be what Kevin love is at age 25. Only Kevin Love is, and that's more than good enough for me.

I'm praying that we get 1-4. I think 1-4 almost guarantees us Love, if that's what we want, because of all the other assets we have.

My biggest fear is that the Fakers get lucky and we don't and they grab Love by virtue of their lottery luck, because they don't have much else to offer.
