Excellent, this means Sullinger may finally hit the bench.

My ideal situation for next year is having a new legit starting center, Sully at PF and KO playing behind both with all 3 playing roughly 30 minutes a game.  You can have flexibility who you want in a the end of games depending on matchups.  Still would love Humphries as a 4th big if he buys into that role, and insurance for injuries.

That's what I've been daydreaming about too.

It's not the sexiest proposition. Olynyk's awkward and unathletic, Sully's awkward and unathletic - but it'd be a very solid, promising one.

They may be unathletic, but they're both very comfortable in their bodies.

Talk about ideal.

Only thing more ideal than that is getting Hump for 4th big money.
Philly:

Anderson Varejao    Tiago Splitter    Matt Bonner
David West    Kenyon Martin    Brad Miller
Andre Iguodala    Josh Childress    Marquis Daniels
Dwyane Wade    Leandro Barbosa
Kirk Hinrich    Toney Douglas   + the legendary Kevin McHale

As in pound his fist into the bench in excitement as he gets up off of it to be a part of the starting lineup introductions at the beginning of a game?

Totally.

It's not that crazy.

I don't think Houston is too happy about paying 15 mil for Asik to sit on the bench most of the game. Plus they have Melo aspirations.

Larry Sanders.

Greg Monroe isn't ideal. But Big Al apparently has had success this year defensively as a full time 5 (I need confirmation on that).

Edit:

Also, Tyson Chandler.

Maybe Gortat.

If they want him to lose weight it'll only help him if they play him at the 4. He needed that weight playing center last season.

He has a ridiculous PER at the 4. Like 25 or something.

The only "pounding" that's happening with Sullinger these days is the one that's accumulating in his rear end. Much like other high profile PFs we've had before, he's either trade bait, or one of the best players on a mediocre team.

Why do I get the feeling that DannyAinge prefaced his promise with, 'Now don't go spreading this around but..'

Meh.  It doesn't seem like you have an objective perspective on Sullinger.  He's not Glen Davis.

Maybe Ainge wants him to spread it around.  Perhaps this is all a smokescreen to make other GMs think that Sullinger carried around extra pounds because the team wanted him to and not because he has a conditioning problem, so that Sullinger has more trade value this summer.

I remember having a multi-talented PF, slightly undersized but with top-notch rebounding ability, had some ball handling ability, but fell in love with chucking the 3-ball at a higher clip than his shooting percentage would recommend.  Eventually, when youth began to fade, he just couldn't stay in shape.  Played with all heart, though.  Eventually won a ring as a bench player.
