Surprised I missed this but Satch appeared on an Ohio radio station last week and apparently said the C's want Sullinger to focus on weight loss and get ready to play the PF spot full time as they said they'll bring in a starting center this summer.

Quote
?Next year, I think he?s going to get to finally get to play his true position of power forward. And so at that point, he?s going to come home and he?s going to trim down and shed some pounds, so he gets a quicker step and a little more mobility. Because they?ve kinda promised him that they?re (the Celtics) going to get a center.?

Could only find a highlight of the conversation online...

why do you think KO should start over Sully?

Gortat is a free agent after this season; I'd love to have the Hammer!

I hope so.  I think KO and Sully is a great pair that each can give us a matchup advantage , depending on the front court of the opponent.

These guys just need a guy like Drummond to let them really develop their rightful positions .

I hope Asik , Gortat , somebody can play the five for the C's

Good news. Sully was an elite offensive rebounder despite playing as an under sized center. Can't wait to see what he can do playing at his natural position.

My ideal situation for next year is having a new legit starting center, Sully at PF and KO playing behind both with all 3 playing roughly 30 minutes a game.  You can have flexibility who you want in a the end of games depending on matchups.  Still would love Humphries as a 4th big if he buys into that role, and insurance for injuries.

Defensively, Sullinger is not exactly the second coming of Rodman or Michael Cooper, but he can use his bulk to defend against low post scorers. KO has displayed no defensive skills at all and he needs to dramatically improve that part of his game. Right now, Sullinger is the big minutes player at the 4. KO picks up the rest of the minutes. I hope their plan is to get a rim defender center like Asik or Sanders and not an offensive center like Monroe.

That's what I've been daydreaming about too.

It's not the sexiest proposition. Olynyk's awkward and unathletic, Sully's awkward and unathletic - but it'd be a very solid, promising one.
