I'll probably get crucified for this, but if we can get another strong asset (say a future unprotected pick from a crap team) I'd trade down and take Exum.  I think he has as much upside as any of the top guys (save for Embiid if his back checks out) and I'd rather take my chances with Exum and get another shot at a top guy in a future draft.

I'd go with Wiggins.

As much as I like Avery, I let him go (S&T maybe) and Wiggins is my starting SG in the Fall.

The reason I take Wiggins over Embiid comes down to marginal difference at their position.

If healthy, I project Embiid to be, eventually, at least a top 10 center in the NBA, with a decent chance of maybe cracking the 'top 5' at his position.   That will likely take several years to realize.  Keep in mind, that next year's draft alone may have 2-3 centers who may be better prospects than Embiid.

Wiggins, imho, will probably be in the discussion for top 5 at SG by the end of next year.   He won't BE there yet, but he'll be knocking on the door.  And it won't be long before he's in the discussion for the top spot at his position.

Shooting guards who are 6' 8", with a 7' wingspan, who move like the wind, can shoot for average from anywhere on the court, can play above the rim and who can guard 4 positions are not just rare.  They don't exist.   He is a game-changer at his position.

I also think that Wiggins is an ideal floor mate for Rondo since he is not a ball-dominant SG like a Kobe or a Harden.

Between the two of them, Rondo and Wiggins would provide just a hair under 14 feet of wingspan.   Add Jeff Green on the perimeter and that is 21 feet of wingspan in three very athletic defenders.

Unfortunately, Wiggins is likely to end up as a Buck or a Sixer.   But I'll still be happy with Embiid or Parker, if we at least get in the top 3.
NBA Officiating - Corrupt?  Incompetent?  Which is worse?  Does it matter?  It sucks.

You draft Wiggins or Embiid and don't look back...

I might be alone but Wiggins looks like a huge bust.

If it was me drafting:

(1)  Embiid (size and potential)
(2) Parker (most skilled player in the draft)
(3) Randle (beast with upside to be a Zebo type PF)
(4) Aaron Gordon - Arizona (dude is gonna be a stud, you draft him for what he will be in 5 years)
(5) Tarczewski - Arizona (7'1" that is if he comes out)
(6) Exum - only bc I do not see him very much
(7) Wiggins - small, teenager body, cannot guard 4's and probably will have difficulty guarding quicker 3's, no shot whatsoever and he really did not do anything this season except score which is the easiest skill to acquire in the NBA.

And if you have the No. 1 pick you would much rather have Parker than Wiggins.

To answer the question, I'd probably do a happy dance, before the anxiety and creeping dread of picking the wrong guy set in.

Also, I probably officially start the Rondo Trade Watch.

If Embiid is healthy and his injury doesn't look to be a long term issue, I probably take him, Maybe Stauskus with the 17th?

The Embiid, Oklynyk, Sullinger combo could be great - very complimentary.

Taking Embiid, if there are no long-term health alerts. Otherwise Wiggins. On the subject of what to do if we win the lottery, from BS's mailbag:

Quote from: Bill Simmons
If we get the no. 1 pick, they should retire Rondo’s number next October.

(... because he was our "best tanking asset down the stretch")

Among some other things I found just wrong about this post, the one that stands out the most is Wiggins isn't a 4. Not sure why he should be able to guard them. He is a 2, a position he should be guarding extremely well or better even in his first season.

Wiggins played in a college system that didn't suit him. He will be a perennial MVP candidate in his prime. You don't pass up on the best wing to come out since Durant. Is he Durant? Probably not. But Wiggins is as close as you'll get. The top 3 are can't miss and certainly worth tanking for.

You either, 1) mistaken Wiggins for someone else or 2) did not watch a Kansas game this season. This is such a far off and inaccurate analysis.

Wiggins does not have a small body. He has a good frame and will most likely fill it out when he gets older. He is a 2/3. Not a 4. Without a doubt, he's quicker than most 3's and could easily guard 4's with his length. He has good form and was hitting his shots at a very good rate his freshmen year. I don't know where you're getting all that from but it's just wrong and inaccurate.
PHX Suns: Russell Westbrook, Chris Bosh, Tristan Thompson, Trevor Ariza, Tony Allen, Trey Lyles, Corey Brewer, Larry Nance Jr., Trey Burke, Troy Daniels, Joffrey Lauvergne, Justin Holiday, Mike Muscala, 14.6

I'd definitely draft Wiggins. Then I'd shake the team up and try to acquire a center. The only untouchables (and when i say that, i mean "guys with a high price") for me are Rondo and Sully.

seems like plenty here would prefer a pick every year in the 12 to 15 range and stay in nba hell. no assets good enough to develop and no pick high enough to trade for a proven star. GOTTA LOVE IT!!!!!!!!!!!   ::)
