If we fall far enough to get stuck with Exum or Gordon - or Marcus Smart, for that matter - the pick should be traded. None of them are going to significantly help us.

Per KO (and I agree), Exum is a tier one player.  Smart a tier 2 player.  Randle is tier 3. With a guy like Exum, the possibilities are endless, including sending Rondo to Detroit for Drummond or Monroe on draft night.

Monroe is an impending restricted free agent, and cannot be traded until this coming July.

Thanks for the correction.  Did not realize.  Would Detroit consider trading Drummond for Rondo, or is that pie in the sky, especially given his pending UFA status after next season and the unliklihood he would agree to an extension with Detroit?

I really doubt it. Dumars is rumored to be stepping down, and I suspect his replacement would be more likely to trade anyone else on that roster before trading Drummond.

Yep.....Pistons are like Kings ....they got them a nice Center.  ....and centers are the hardest and most valuable player to come by in keeper abilility.

We don't need Monroe or Smith ......   We need Drummond, Davis, Cousins or ....Embiid ....we need a decent center

We need to TANK. .....like crazy and dump all the trash players

Drummond is one of the most untouchable players in the league. Not many players can match his production, potential, and contract.

What's the worst case scenario if we win the Final 5 games?  What's the worst our pick can be?

Edit:  Oh... looks like we could move up to 7th.  And then if 3 teams leapfrog us into the Top 3, we'll end up picking 10th.  Or in other words:  Celtics18's Dream Scenario.  ;)  Gotta get that winning momentum, right? lol

Current worst-case:  10th pick

I have it on good authority that we'll definitely be picking between 8 and 15.

We can't pick worse than 10 at this point.

Luckily, we'll have some talent on the board still...  Doug McDermott and Kyle Anderson, for instance.  Plus, a couple posters have been explaining to me for months that finishing the season with a nice 5 game flourish will benefit us in SOO many ways... We become a free agent destination, we build a winning identity, the young guys develop great habits that will all carry over into next season... kinda like when the 76ers made a playoff run in 2012.

Let's get them wins, baby!  Jerami Grant is walking through that door.

Hahahahaha.

Highly unlikely, though. I see us, at most, winning 2 more games. I think worst realistic case scenario is the 6th spot in the lottery.

PHX Suns: Russell Westbrook, Chris Bosh, Tristan Thompson, Trevor Ariza, Tony Allen, Trey Lyles, Corey Brewer, Larry Nance Jr., Trey Burke, Troy Daniels, Joffrey Lauvergne, Justin Holiday, Mike Muscala, 14.6

Not sure why people here  are worried. The Celtics won't win 5 in a row. I don't think it's happened all year. Chances are it won't happen now. At best MAYBE, they win 2 games the rest of the year. They are gonna have a top 5 worst record in the league.

Honestly, the end of the season is completely unpredictable.  Teams rest their stars, give young guys some run, experiment with lineups, etc.  It wouldn't really shock me to see a flukey 5 game winning streak.  We'd finish with 28 wins.   THat would more than likely cause the Lakers (25 wins now) and Jazz (24 wins now) to pass is in the tank rank.    Kings have 27 wins... they'd have to lose the next 5 for us to pass them.  We'd end up 7th in tank rank.

Then 3 teams in the 8-15 range would need to end up with the Top 3 picks.  HIGHLY unlikely... I think the craziest lotto results I've seen was in 1993 when top 3 picks went to the 11th odds, 5th odds and 7th odds.   But if something insane happened and the 8th, 9th and 10th teams ended up with the Top 3 picks, we'd end up with our absolute worst-case scenario:  Pick #10

More likely scenario:  We win a couple games... Utah and Lakers pass us.  We end up with the 6th odds.  Maybe one team leapfrogs us and we pick 7th.

8 or 9 worse.cant see that happening tho u less we win all games and det, sac lose all of theirs

Likely 4 to 6 pick unless we win the lotto

4-to-6 is the optimistic outlook.  Embiid and Parker sound like they are staying in school.  We might be able to get Aaron Gordon if the stars align.

Embiid is holding a press conference to declare in roughly 10 minutes.

Gotta be careful - a reverse jinx that's not grounded enough in reality is dangerously close to tipping over into reverse reverse jinx territory.
