Well it does move the needle and where we pick does matter. That is just flat out wrong. Unless you think Wiggins is going to last until 6th overall?

My suspicion is that you misunderstood my previous post. Please read it again.

Almost 30 percent chance of a top 3 pick isn't that bad actually. I wonder what the numbers are of previous teams sitting at 5 in the past, how many have gotten top 3 picks anybody?

Gotta agree with D.O.S. on this one.

This is entertainment. Its something to do to pass the time that interests you. Its not a do or die type of thing. Enjoying watching your team win is a natural thing. It shouldn't be something that anyone should ever feel bad about, be made to feel bad about, or berated and insulted over.

Most who want this team to tank are doing so because they feel that is the best way to eventually feel good about your team again because you want them to win. So tankers have to understand that feeling, its a feeling they are striving for by hoping their team loses now to maximize the downtime of a losing era.

There's no need to state he is wrong because he isn't. Its an opinion and everyone has one and everyone's opinion is correct. Drafting 19 year-olds could eventually turn this team around. But as 2007 proved, so can trades and savvy free agent signings. There is no 100% right or wrong way to build a championship contender.

Just as there is no knowing which combo of ping pong balls is going to come out. Finishing 7th could mean drafting first. In the last 4 drafts the team that won the lottery finished with the 3rd,4th, 2nd, and 5th worse records. Anything is possible. There is no knowing what is the right place to land until the night of the lottery.

So a win at the end of the season, one in which the team sat their top 3 players and played rookies and D-Leaguers big minutes, is no big deal. It happens. They shot lights out. There's just zero reason to be upset over it. I actually look at is as a reward to the rookies and young guys that have worked their tails off this year to learn and develop. They deserve a good hard well deserved win every once in a while and last night they got one. Good for them.

Kings won last night, so sole possession of 6th is the worst we can do now.

Tonight is the game of the year for the Celtics. One loss and we are either tied for 4th with LA and Utah or in sole possession of 5th.

Of course I fully expect Bradley to be 6-6 from behind the arc and Pressey and Sullinger to knock down like 60% of their threes.

You do know that LA and Utah are playing each other tonight, right?

Draftexpress has a history of the draft lottery...complete with what every teams odds were and where they landed.  Pretty intersting.

...Yes. If we LOSE tonight we are either tied for 4th with LA, and Utah, (IF Utah wins) or in sole possession of 5th (IF LA wins)

thank you, having the worst record doesn't guarantee you a top pick. I hope the ping pong balls fall our way though!

Awesome.  Would have taken that happily before the season started.

Seems like the fifth slot gets into the top three an awful lot.

Just making sure that game was accounted for in your calculations.

All the wasted time thrown away to win a few stinking games.  Ugh... You blockheads

Danny needs to have a heart to heart with Stevens ..

He can not coach a bunch of role players in a top four contender .....yeah maybe he ll coach this team to a 6 or eight seed for the next 10 years .....a waste ....of time.

Without the talent ......we aren't contending

So, you feel that the team should be actively throwing games?  We are almost certain to land somewhere between the fourth and the sixth spot in the lottery.  The top two spots have been sewn up by Milwaukee and Philadelphia a long time ago.

It is still a lottery (which means it's a game of chance), and the team is in a good position to get lucky in that lottery.  Getting this upset over a few late season wins seems pointless.
