I don't like the words "back issues" associated with a kid that has not yet turned 20...

Maybe this is Danny's chance to grab another lottery pick ......latter ......sorta like Sully .......

Take a chance and repair the guy..

I think until this happened we had near zero chance at him.

I doubt the sucky team that pick ahead would draft him that hurt .......

But I would  :D

You know who else had a stress fracture in his back last year? Drummond

Same here. I stay away from this guy.

At this point, I'd probably rather take Smart or Exum before Embiid.

We already took this risk with Sully, no need to take another one.

Yeah but the other thing with Embiid that kinda scares me is he seems kidna lanky and needs to put on some muscle.

Now granted, that's something he can certainly do, but right now looks like he has kind of a fragile body, whereas Drummond is a big, muscular guy.

I hope this will push him down to a point that we can get him even if we aren't in the top 5.
DKC:  Rockets
CB Draft: Memphis Grizz
Players: Klay Thompson, Jabari Parker, Aaron Gordon
Next 3 picks: 4.14, 4.15, 4.19

Yeah, I mean injuries with big guys are always scary. But he's still one of the three prospects I'm really excited for.

"Based on that, this weekend (in the Big 12 Championship) is out," Self said in a statement. "Next weekend, we feel like is a longshot, but the doctors are hopeful that if Joel works hard in rehab and progresses that it is possible that he could play in the later rounds of the NCAA Tournament if our team is fortunate enough to advance."

Yikes. Sounds like we may not see him until at least mid-tournament.
*CB Miami Heat*
Kyle Lowry, Dwayne Wade, 13th pick in even numbered rounds, 18th pick in odd numbered rounds.

I would draft  Randle before him if I had the number 1 pick.

Seriously??

Sounds like we aren't going to see him for the rest of the season. Wonder what impact this will have on his decision to declare.

He's done for the year. The NCAA takes injuries into account when seeding -- if you're missing a key player for the tourney who you've had all year, you get a worse seed.  Self is mostly trying to keep Kansas from getting punished in the seeding by saying he "might" return.  If they thought it was possible, they'd use stronger, but still non-committal language, like "we expect him to return."  Stress fracture in the back?  His goal is to rehab so he can participate in the draft combine at this point.

I have a stress fracture in my back right now. Having a stress fracture is about a billion times better than disc issues. Once the bone heals you're good.

I'm going on 6 months now but mine was pretty severe and I didn't treat it completely properly. This is gonna knock him out for March Madness and he should rest/rehab for a few months and be good. This shouldn't be red flag stuff like Sully.

what if we draft Parker with our lotto pick, then pick up Embiid with our 18th pick (lesser of Nets and Hawks pick) because he was red flagged like Sully was :D

Rondo/Bradley/Parker/Sully/Embiid

hey, a man can dream right
