I also haven't watched a whole lot of college ball (although with March Madness gearing up I'm going to have to), but I haven't seen anything from Randle that would indicate he's more explosive than prime Amar'e.

The biggest problem with playing 3 PF's is on the defensive end. It may be true that Randle has good lateral quickness for a big man, but remember that athleticism is subjective and it's yet to be seen how is athleticism will translate to the NBA.

Josh Smith is one of the most athletic players in the NBA but he defends the SF position worse than Kyle Singler. The reason being that defending SF's off the ball is tremendously difficult for big men who usually hang near the basket defensively.

No.  I don't think you can even start two of them together, if you want to win a lot of games.  They are all best used as PFs, and really need a rim protector to play next to.

I think if the C's end up with Randle, then eventually at least one of those guys will be traded.

I don't know why Webber's name is being thrown around in this thread, but if we draft Randle and he turns out to be the second coming of Webber, I'll be very happy. Don't see it happening though, lol

When someone brings up a power forward that "has crazy handles and can go coast-to-coast with ease," isn't Webber the first name that comes to your mind?

I mean, if we're being loose with "crazy handles", we could talk about Sir Charles, I suppose.

Webber, Charles (but he was a small PF), KG in his younger days, Lamar Odom,  and Blake Griffin are probably the guys who came to mind for me just now.

Lamar was really fun to watch, he was devastating going coast to coast after he got a defensive rebound.

I didn't realize J.Randle was that comfortable off the dribble from 16-23 feet. Always in the post (or a non-threat when away from hoop) when I have seen him in games. That bodes well for him.

Not stating it will be a long term solution to have sully, randle and ko together out at the same time. But id like to see and worse we have options later at the pf spot. This is if jeff green is traded and randle is drafted 5th lets say

Celtics are going to trade Jeff Green so they can draft a kid with a top 5 pick to play out of position?

Why would they do that?

Makes more sense (if they're going to draft Randle) to keep Green around, draft Randle, then end up moving one of the PFs down the road.

Sorry, I haven't read the whole thread, but I just think the defense would be beyond horrible with that lineup.  You have no rim protection and no lateral quickness on the perimeter.  Combine that with less than elite shooting, and there just is no benefit to playing those guys together.

Celtics need people who can score ...put the ball in the bucket ......not looking for show offs and stuff......need players you can count on to hit a shot.

Embiid is nice , we need a center too ...but  seems Danny won't  tank hard enough to win him.
Not for drafting more guards that haven't already developed a good jump shot.....that's the last thing we need. 

Randle ...can score ....Celtics are needing scorers ....so do other teams .......I have no problem drafting him .....cheap early rookie years and then trade a power forward away when the time is right.
