So I take it the answer is "yes, I was too young to watch Chris Webber."

It's worse than that, you have to be old enough to have seen Webber with good knees.

Good point.

Thanks Donghus.

Triboy, dude, I don't know what to tell you. You seem to be almost consistently incorrect in your analysis, and deaf to the numerous posters on this blog who try to help you understand why what you're saying doesn't make much, if any, sense.

He constantly refuses to see evidences (stats, etc) disproving his claims in multiple threads he started. I think triboy is in his early 20s, around 16-17 when the 2008 celts won the championship, so yes he is much too young to have watched chris webber.

what?? lol

how do you know i'm not older than you.

I don't understand why people don't concentrate on the topic instead of going off board.

If you don't agree you don't agree. I don't have to agree if i don't either. i hope you understand how this place works

How do you understand this place to work?

If you post something that turns out to be wrong as a simple point of fact, or in the opinion of every other poster, does that make you wonder whether you might be...wrong?

Or does it just leave you convinced that every other poster is wrong?

If the latter...then I am the one who's confused. I thought boards like this were places where people could exchange ideas and information.

Yes exchange ideas and info. That's it. Doesnt mean for example  bc there are much more pro Rondo fans here, and some have stats to backup their views about certain topics i have to suddenly agree with them.

You certainly dont agree with everyone here do you?

I think we should go back to talking ball/topic

Ok. The idea that Randle could play any amount of time at the 3 in the NBA seems, at best, farfetched, and at worst, designed to minimize the impact of everything he's good at on the basketball court.

Celtics don't need another PF.

The next PF they get if they're going to address the position is move Sully and parts out the door for Love.

Otherwise, the Celtics have more pressing issues.  Namely C & an offensive, take control SF.
sure but you always take the best player available, especially when you have a high pick in the draft.  If Randle is the bpa, you have to take him.

That's the thing, Randle does not deserve to be in the top 8 IMO.  I think this guy is set up to be a huge disappointment in the NBA, akin to Sheldon Williams a few years back.  He will get killed inside, and has no outside game.

I wouldnt go that far.

Randle has shown in his HS tapes that he has a solid jump shot. Why he's not shooting so much, maybe Cali-party just dont set mid range plays for him.

He's physical enough to make an impact on the boards. And he will get fouled, a ton in the NBA the way he's playing. I disagree that he's going to be Shelden Williams. He's far better than that.

With that in mind, he still shouldnt be playing SF.
2019 CStrong Historical Draft 2000s OKC Thunder.
PG: Jrue Holiday / Isaiah Thomas / Larry Hughes
SG: Paul George / Aaron McKie / Bradley Beal
SF: Paul Pierce / Tayshaun Prince / Brian Scalabrine
PF: LaMarcus Aldridge / Shareef Abdur-Raheem / Ben Simmons
C: Jermaine O'neal / Ben Wallace

I don't know why Webber's name is being thrown around in this thread, but if we draft Randle and he turns out to be the second coming of Webber, I'll be very happy. Don't see it happening though, lol

When someone brings up a power forward that "has crazy handles and can go coast-to-coast with ease," isn't Webber the first name that comes to your mind?

I mean, if we're being loose with "crazy handles", we could talk about Sir Charles, I suppose.

Webber, Charles (but he was a small PF), KG in his younger days, Lamar Odom,  and Blake Griffin are probably the guys who came to mind for me just now.

Lamar was really fun to watch, he was devastating going coast to coast after he got a defensive rebound.

They are similar athletes but Webber was a great passer, not sure Randle has that part to his game.  I like Randle though, he will be a good pro.

not an ideal lineup but you can play KO at the 3, JS at 5 and Randle at 4..

The ball-handling and driving ability is pretty impressive. Reminds me of Josh Smith.

I didn't realize J.Randle was that comfortable off the dribble from 16-23 feet. Always in the post (or a non-threat when away from hoop) when I have seen him in games. That bodes well for him.

Yeah, it's sad how fast Odom's game deteriorated after 2010. I hope he gets his act together.

Also, in that ESPN link, Randle says he's like Amar'e in the post, but more explosive....

A) Amar'e is known for his post game? what?
B) More explosive than STAT in 2014, right?

Amare's really good in the post now, sadly he had to get better because he lost all his bounce.
