In other news. I'm watching the game. He actually looks better than how he looked with the Celtics.

He seems to be a little bit faster, and he dove for the lose ball and got it.

Hope he does well.

I dont think this will be a huge media circus for more than a week. When guys on the team are brushing it off saying "yeah, its 2014" and you have leaders like KG and Pierce among others.

I mean really what are they going to do follow him around everywhere? Its a big story but after a little while it will be back to basketball and playoff hunt

PP and KG's answers will be along the lines of, we shared a locker room with him for a season when we knew he was gay (he told them well before he made it public), it doesn't bother us, thank you... then it will be done as far as they are concerned. I see it going away quickly b/c of the team he's on.
It takes me 3hrs to get to Miami and 1hr to get to Orlando... but I *SPIT* on their NBA teams! "Bless God and bless the (Celts)"-Lady GaGa (she said gays but she really meant Celts)

Two rebounds...5 fouls in 12 minutes.

Could've brought in Greg Kite for that....

The Nets have signed Jason Collins for the remainder of the season:  http://espn.go.com/new-york/nba/story/_/id/10591818/brooklyn-nets-sign-jason-collins-remainder-season

The Nets are now 7-2 since signing Collins - so, when exactly should we be expecting the media circus to destroy the season again?

Yep, I've been waiting for someone to make this point.

Obviously it's being held under wraps by the gaystream media. The Nets are actually 0-9 but crooked reporters and journalists are altering the feeds and destroying the tapes.

I guess we should expect no less. The gay agenda isn't straight, it's as crooked as they come.

It's kinda funny reading through the ESPN writeups of the Nets games.  The first game and first home game Collins gets a headline.  Then there's a couple of early games with bits about halfway down mentioning road crowd reaction (fairly meh), meeting with Matthew Shepard's family, and his first DNP.  The last two games there's nothing about him at all.  As it should be.

Sort of. I feel like this is more on the Jackie Robinson makes it to the MLB end of the spectrum than the Matsui becomes first Japanese player to with World Series MVP.

Eh, there are similarities, but it's tempered by the fact that everyone knows Collins isn't the first gay athlete, just the first to be open while playing, and that unlike with Robinson there has been basically zero controversy amongst the league itself.

I'm very (pleasantly) surprised no player or ex-player has so much as tweeted something stupid about it or anything like that.  No one really seems to care, except to briefly note that it's a nice milestone for gay people.  That type of reaction is a much more heartening sign than a constant microscope.
