For most teams nothing usually happens at the deadline.

Most trades involve teams looking for a new 8th man, and giving up an 8th-10th man at a different position.

The celtics dont need another 8th man. Let's let some of these big contracts roll of the books this summer.

Traded Jordan Crawford and Marshaun Brooks for a pick(s).

Agreed.  This just tells you that not a single team in the league was willing to pay a fair price of two 1st rounders for Rondo.

Cue the months of speculation about Rondo being traded on draft day.

Looks like a couple small deals are still trickling out, though.  Could still see some small potatoes roster shift.

The fact that no one wants to sell the farm for rondo makes me think he might be willing to resign for something under the max.

From what everyone has been saying, teams were reluctant to give up 1st round picks until they can see the draft board. Draft day has always seemed like the time when the major deals would go down. Teams know the actual value of the picks and teams who can't trade their picks this year (Kings for example) can trade a player's draft rights.

Lol... searching "celtics" on twitter you see a ton of angry fans mad that Boston didn't do anything.  I guess a lot of experts will need to eat some crow.

Looks like I was wrong.  I figured there was a 60-70% chance Rondo would be moved.  I figured there was a chance we'd swing in the other direction.  At the very least I expected us to make some small deal like dump Green or Bass.

I guess Ainge and the team are confident they can still end up with a Top 5 pick and keep Rondo at the same time.  I'm cool with it.  Best-case scenario we land a star in the draft and keep Rondo long-term.

as mentioned above, the new CBA is changing how business is done in the NBA. gone are the days of big trades at the deadline i think.

its becoming glaringly (and boringly) evident that all teams are going down the "no-repeater-tax and let's stockpile picks" route. what a blah deadline, but better than making bad deals.

Everyone needs to be reminded of this. These are 3 really nice plays. 3 for 3 at the plate, all were nice little singles hit. And if the Philly pick turns into a mid first rounder, i would call that one a lopsided double in favor of the Celtics.

As jalen rose said earlier this season, Danny ainge should be arrested. He is getting away with murder this year. This past calendar year included the nets and clippers picks trades.

Danny is wildly overvaluing Rondo. The rest of the league isn't as shot in the fanny with him as this board is.

But ... if the Kevin Love thing is halfway legit, then there may well be some merit in hanging onto him.

Well if the rumors we were hearing the last few days have any semblance of truth to them, the Kings, Raptors and Rockets all made some interesting offers... but Rondo didn't want to play in Sacramento or Toronto... and Dwight didn't want Rondo in Houston. 

Who knows how close those deals came to actually happening.  I'm still curious how we found out Rondo didn't want to play in Sacramento or Toronto unless those deals were red hot and news got back to Rondo from the teams.

Absolutely. I dont think enough people are aware of just how much the new  CBA is altering business in the NBA. ......outside of Brooklyn anyway.

Yes. And my take is that Ainge was forward-looking enough to see that it would be a buyers' market.

Was any other team able to off-load significant future salary - as we did with Lee - or pick up even a potential first round pick (as we did with Crawford) at the deadline?

Too many healthy power forwards.  The season needed more injured big men to build a market for Bass.
