if we could swap green with barnes i'd do it. i'd like to see the possibility or lack of "potential" barnes may develop than watching the frustrating on and off play of uncle snooze. i'll take a gamble with barnes if given a choice.
I'd rather not.  not a fan of trading a known quantity for 'potential' when that 'potential' would be lucky to be as good as the player we're giving up.  from a financial perspective, I get it, from a BBall perspective, I don't.

The floor potential we see is still high enough.  We have seen it in the playoffs.

I just don't see GSW being interested in green.  He makes $6 million more than Barnes, and such an exchange would put then well into the luxury tax, and less than $500k from the hard cap (which they're subject to due to the sign-and-trade for Iggy.  They're pretty bereft of expirings -- Jermaine O'Neal at $2 million is their largest.  Bass seems to be a more sensible target for them.

If Danny has a taker for Jeff Green, then reeling in Barnes to replace him might seem awfully tempting.

People would trade Green for a late first but won't trade him for Barnes? That makes no sense to me. Barnes would definitely go top 10 in this year's draft. His value is equivalent to a lottery pick (that's not top-5) in the 2014 draft.

Getting Barnes for Green would be nice.

The best package I'd be willing to offer (that also works under the CBA and meets GSW's likely objectives) would be: Avery Bradley, Brandon, Bass, and (2015 Clippers 1st OR 2014 Nets/Hawks 1st) for Barnes, Speights, and Nedovic (or other salary filler).

I doubt that's enough for GSW, though.

The Golden State Warriors are again searching for an upgrade to their bench and are hopeful of using a trade exception.

The Warriors have traded player exceptions of $9 million and $4 million, which do not expire until next summer.

Seems GSW could take J.Green with their $9mil trade exception.

Then Boston could take H.Barnes and maybe some extra salary (JO?) with part of their trade exception from the Pierce/Garnett trade.

GSW would have to be willing to pay luxury tax.

Isn't that what some are saying about Green?

um Boston would have the Jeff Green exception they could use (always cut the smaller exception first).

I just don't see the point in that trade for Golden State.  Green isn't really any better (for that team) than Barnes is.  I think they would get a lot more value from Bass and Bradley than Green.

Bass for trade exception

Bradley, Brooklyn 1st for Barnes, Ezeli

That seems to make more sense for both teams.
2025 Historical Draft - Cleveland Cavaliers - 1st pick

Starters - Luka, JB, Lebron, Wemby, Shaq
Rotation - D. Daniels, Mitchell, G. Wallace, Melo, Noah
Deep Bench - Korver, Turner

I think getting Barnes for Green is a huge win for us. I don't see GS trading Barnes unless they get something better than Green though.

I don't think you get Barnes for Green (even adding a low first).  Everything I read says that the Warriors would have to be blown away with an offer to trade either Thompson or Barnes and Green doesn't fit into that category....

Bradley & bass for Speights, Ezeli and Barnes works money wise.

For Golden State:
1. Certainly boosts their bench scoring.
2. Curry, Thmopson, Bardley, Crawford backcourt > nice

Boston:
1. We get Harrison Barnes
2. I've always liked Ezeli as an enforcer off the bench, wanted him over Melo
3. We can Jettison Speights next year if needed.
