I was just watching comcast sports, and in the opening Tanguay said that Josh Smith to Boston rumor came up again today. This was the 1st time I have heard this ,this season . When I did a google search I couldn't find anything . Anyone know what Tanguay is talking about?

Nice posting strategy, ending with a rhetorical question like that.

My guess: he's referring to all the nonrumor stories theorizing a Smith-to-Boston scenario.

A scenario that I hope never comes to fruition.

Tanguay is a buffoon. He took an old recurring rumor and recycled it. He has no inside information. All he really has is a megaphone.

Maybe Tanguay read this (posted today), and then decided to put his troll hat on.

Technically, it's true: the rumor came up today--and in this case was denounced as folly.

On NBA tv yesterday Barry and Scott were talking about rumors they had heard and one was a trade revolving around smith for green.

  • Sometimes there's no sane reason for optimism
Maybe if we trade Green and Bogans for Smith, we can turn around this offseason and trade Smith for a s&t Monroe. It makes sense for both sides - Boston gets an above average center to anchor their team for years to come and Det would get an athletic pf to combine with Drummond and Green - great fits for both teams!  :D

I'd do this:

http://espn.go.com/nba/tradeMachine?tradeId=ly75kd9

We get salary relief, shooting, and the best talent.

Detroit gets rid of the longest termed deal, a player they don't use at all, and better fits for their roster.

I would do this, and we can flip Smith later on if we want, maybe not for Monroe but maybe something else.

Detroit is finding it very hard to move Josh Smith. The idea that we could flip him would seem to me to be a foolish one. If we did we'd be taking a bath in all odds just to dump his salary.

Agreed he is being paid more than his value and I see it being more difficult to move him as
