Boy, this didn't take long. Anyone interested?

I would think if Rondo is in the team's long-term plans, then Smoove could make a lot of sense. Thoughts?

If Ainge wanted him at that salary we would have had him before he went to Detroit.

The proposed trade is Josh Smith for Wallace + Bogans, right?

I am not a big fan of Josh Smith but I think he has more value than Wallace and Bogans.  His contract is bad but more tradeable than Wallace in my opinion.

I don't think Detroit would do this though.

Don't see Celtics adding a player who could help them win any games now..they want a top 3 pick..now a draft day deal, I wouldn't be surprise
C/PF-Horford, Baynes, Noel, Theis, Morris,
SF/SG- Tatum, Brown, Hayward, Smart, Semi, Clark
PG- Irving, Rozier, Larkin

Makes no sense for the Pistons to trade Josh Smith for Wallace and Bogans. None. The savings are far to minimal and it doesn't allow them to improve their team in the near future. I could see them doing it for Humph's expiring, plus Bogans, and a 1st round pick though.

A friendship with Rondo is not equal to instant court chemistry.

I could see the Pistons having interest in Green as he'd be more compatible with Drummond and Monroe. Would they take Green and Wallace for Smith and Charlie V? It obviously doesn't shed salary for Detroit but it might improve the team on the court and Dumars may be that desperate. I'd throw in the Hawks/Nets pick if it'd make the deal work.

Could Smith be our 2014 Ray Allen to attract our 2014 KG  or does his cost make that an impossibility?

As I noted in a trade idea thread this week, there's only one team I can see taking Smith: New York.

There's some variation of this that makes sense.

Would Smith to Houston, Asik to Boston, and Green to Detroit make too much sense to ever happen?

The Celtics are not ready for Smith or Melo .     Two ball hogs that will finally become useful in about two years .........they will be old and rich enough to settle in on a contending team and help them win their first rings.  Play for a team title , not individual accolades.   They will screw up the development of younger players...their own lack of team first is appalling stuff Danny won't tolerate  with his young coach and rookies.

In about two years as the Celtics are built back up , Wallace gone,  these guys would be nice pieces o throw against James, Durant and Lakers star roster.

Now is not the time.......to add these guys.

Ps....I'm a Smith fan ...like to watch him play.........would have liked him two years ago .....instead of Bass and Green....but not on this torn up rebuilding team.

Ever read things that fit into the category of unintended humor, where the author says something hilarious without realizing he is?

"It's a different story in Detroit, where the Pistons were picked as a sure fire playoff team after signing Josh Smith and trading for Brandon Jennings, adding them to the young big man duo of Andre Drummond and Greg Monroe."

I don't necessarily hate Smith, but adding both of Smith and Jennings at the same time? Yikes!

Well guise, back to square one.

Some half of the Celtics fanbase were so into landing Josh Smith.
